    Which power supply?

The Corsair TX650 is a quality unit, however the ANTEC TruePower New 650W is a better option. The ANTEC TruePower New 650W presents a higher efficiency (80 Plus Bronze certified vs 80Plus Certified), better voltage regulation (voltages are close to their nominal values) and ripple and noise...

Why You Should Not buy anything less than 80 Plus Certified PSU...

The higher efficiency, the better, but it's not the most important aspect in a PSU. You can find on the market high quality PSUs that are not 80Plus certified, and horrible PSUs that meets the 80Plus Gold certification. Keep in mind that, as other people have said before, efficiency≠quality.

    Which PSU to buy?

Considering the price, I would take a look at the ANTEC TruePower New 750W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-025-_-Product Reviews: http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page673.htm It presents a good efficiency (80 Plus Bronze certified) and a very good voltage stability...

OCZ StealthXStream 600W enough for GTX 295?

...so there is no problem at all with the FSP's StealthXStream 600W or with the CWT's StealthXStream 400W or with the Sirtec's ModXStream Pro (500W-600W). On the other hand, the new StealthXStream II series (by FSP too) is receiving "recommended" awards from qualified reviewers too. What I'm...

OCZ StealthXStream 600W enough for GTX 295?

The current ModXStreams (Pro) series (by Sirtec) have nothing to do with the StealthXStream series (by CWT and FSP). http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page1373.htm The old ModXStream series had higher wattage (780-900W) than the StealthXStream series (400-700W). By the way, the...

OCZ StealthXStream 600W enough for GTX 295?

The OCZ StealthXStream 600W is a quality (although rather old) PSU from FSP that is able to run even an ATI5850 or your GTX280 easily. However, in my opinion, it is not the proper unit for handling a GTX295. Its maximum combinated power for the +12V, +3,3V and +5V is 580W, but as Alex said, its...

    Antec NSK4482B - 380 watts good enough for i7 950?

The PSU inside the Antec NSK4482B is indeed the Delta manufactured EarthWatts green 380W. It's a quality unit that presents a good voltage regulation and high efficiency and is able to provide all the power you need for running your system.

question about power supply for Intel D410PT motherboard

The 24 pin mobo connector is actually just the old 20 pin connector with 4 extra pins added on the end which are not separate rails. They're just extra lines to provide more current to the same rails. If your motherboard's current requirements are low enough then it will work properly with only...

question about power supply for Intel D410PT motherboard

A 250W PSU with a 24-pin ATX connector is what I would buy. Depending on your case, you should pick a TFX, a SFX or an ATX form factor PSU. The ATX form factor allows different configurations of chassis and power supplies. Several standard power supplies exist including those compliant with...

    Corsair AX850 v. HX850, and a wild card

You can't go wrong with any of them. Channel Well technology (CWT) is a great PSU manufacturer. The HX850 was put on the market in 2009 and since then it has got a very good reputation. a 500W power supply good enough for this?

    Corsair AX850 v. HX850, and a wild card

At these prices, I would go for the unit from XFX. It's a high quality PSU made by Seasonic. GTX 460 and PSU

The 8-pin connectors are made in a (6+2)-pin way to be able to be used as a 6-pin connector if needed. The other two black cables of the connector are useless in your case. So there is no problem at all. You have to insert the two PCIe connectors to feed your GTX460.

Power Supply for EVGA GTX 480

Raidmax doesn't manufacturer any PSU. ATNG, Topower and many others companies make PSUs for them. Concerning how to know the manufacturer, Gabriel Torres from Hardware Secrets wrote a interesting article about this matter: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/370 JonnyGuru wrote this one...

Power Supply for EVGA GTX 480

A quality 600W PSU has power enough for handling the GTX480. Therefore, the Cooler Mster GX750 (Seventeam) will run it. Anyway, that PSU is not the best one that you can get from Cooler Master. The ripple/noise levels on the minor outputs are out of specification at high loads and this can even...

Power Supply & Case Recommendation for Budget Build?

Considering that a 5770 consumes 100W at full load and a GTX460 consumes 150W, I think that 750W is "a bit" excessive... Anyway, lately I have been reading very strange opinions made by some competent people about this matter in some forums ... o_O

Power Supply & Case Recommendation for Budget Build?

If you are not going to do CF/SLI with two graphic cards, a quality 450W PSU with one PCIe connector is enough for running a 5770. For the GTX460, go for a quality 500W PSU with two PCIe connectors. The two models you wrote are low-end units. I highly recommend you to go for a quality PSU. Here...

    Computer power requirements?

Since the 5830 won't pull more than 170W at full load it will work. You have a 190W room on the +12V output for the rest of your system. Anyway, a 400W PSU, even being a Seasonic one, is not the proper PSU for running a system with a 5830 graphic card. A 500W PSU with two PCIe connectors would...

OCZ Z Series Gold 850 PSU question

Yes, the GTX460 is a much better choice. Anyway, the HX620 has only two 6-pin PCIe connectors so you will have to use two molex-to-PCIe adapters for powering two GTX460 in SLI. Despite of this, it has power enough on the +12V output(50A/600W). You don't need to buy a new PSU.

    Will a seasonic x750 power a GTX 480 + a 8800 GTX?

You will be in the limit but It can do it. Anyway, in my opinion, a GTX470 for physics is too much. The 8800GTX will do the trick. Save your money and wait for the future models from ATI or nVidia if the GTX480 doesn't give you power enough. Sell it and buy a powerful one next year.

    Will a seasonic x750 power a GTX 480 + a 8800 GTX?

Yes, it is. In my opinion the Seasonic X-750 is not the proper PSU for running two GTX480 in SLI. Take in mind that in some cases they can pull from the PSU even more than 600W, so you won't have room enough for handling the rest of your system (although the X-750 can really provide more that...
