Missing external power supply for Antec ISK

Oddly enough I just had this issue. You can use standard 19v laptop adapters BUT you need to use the ones that take the fatter center pin. I used an old 120w universal adapter. Also, the power boards allude to them being 135w, from searching around it seems this may be true.

    RB951G-2HnD vs TL-WDR3600 vs ??

I have a 951G in my FIL's place, great router for the price, does its job well and has a huge amount of customization and options available, almost too much for the average user. IMO, Mikrotik > Asus just on options alone

Can I specify which devices on same wifi network use which Internet connection?

I know I harp on this often, but a Mikrotik rb450 would do all the Cisco could do for cheaper with as many or more options. It would be a simple setup with very little power usage and zero noise.

    Post your data backup strategy

Every pc has a backup drive with automatic backups. This is mirrored onto a win2k8 server every night, this is pushed to a drive in my shed once every three days. I keep a monthly copy of important things at a friends house and he does the same here.

My favorite thing to happen in the Middle of the Night...

This happened to my sons bed. Simple fix was to add a 1x6 down the centre and screw it all together, with the centre slats eing screwed into the frame. Now it`s solid and much stronger, you could easily triple the weight load without issue.

    CPU performance matters...

I am pleased for you that you upgraded, it's always nice to upgrade from low end to much higher end gear. I must say though, the comparison isn;t fair, it's like saying you just traded in an Elantra and went to a Porche, they're not even close to the same category.

Router for a 30 person office?

I second this, an RB450G would be up to the task, or if you wanted to go overkill a RB1200 is enough for over 500 users (we have a customer with over 500 users all running data and voice through a 100/100 fibre connection, never a hiccup). http://routerboard.com/RB450G Hard to argue with...

You could try voip.ms, it's been extremely reliable for me going on 3 years. If you were in Canada I could port the numbers for you through my work, set you up with a SIP trunk for about half of what you pay.

Liabilities from opening up guest access to my router for a neighbor

Depending on the ISP it's sometime's a no-no. Albeit, I do connection sharing from my DSL line while I use my cable line for most in home stuff. Captive portal + them having to click 'I agree' to my TOS + logging of each connection = no liability for me.

    FreeNAS build

This would make for a nice NAS, low power and quiet while being rather inexpensive. If you wished to go Intel, you could have similar results with a new SB Celeron and keep a more current socket design while having a bit more CPU power with same or less wattage.

    NAS for home user

You can get the Intel D510MO for about 80-100$ ish depending on location of course, plus RAM it'd be about 120-135$ for 4gb DDR2. Another option would be a Celeron G440, Foxconn ITX board and 4gb DDR3 for about 110$. Similar power levels, much more processing power. Lastly, an E350 is...

I've got one of the notorious Sonic 460's without the VRM heatsink, it does indeed get loud faster than any other card I've owned. I shouldn't have had to, but I added a cut down ramsink for better temps, noise levels seemed to have dropped. Overall, good card, would buy again.

    Cooling my HTPC Vacuum Cleaner

Consider underclocking it, maybe swapping out the 7950 for a passive cooled card (4350-6450 esq), set the cpu fan in bios to silent if that option exists or get a new fan for the cpu (I think you can do that in those shuttles).

In all probability, Mr. Zimmerman is either A: going to jail, or B: going to die. There is too much outrage over this case, a much larger/stronger man with connections and a closed criminal record who followed and killed an unarmed teen whom was smaller/weaker while saying the teen beat him...
