    ICY Dock Datacage Question

How about this single owner review... Drive Bay Aluminum Rack W/ Swappable Fan - Black (Electronics) The functioning of the unit as a multibay device is perfect. Detachable fan is a plus. Unfortunately it fails in most others aspects... Price: Too expensive for what it is. If you run...

    ICY Dock Datacage Question

Check it out..... There are six SATA/ SAS connectors on the back, three yellow, three black. The primary connectors are yellow, so if one is using a SATA drive, or a single channel SAS drive, then cables only need to be connected to the yellow connectors. The black connectors are for dual...

Get rid of garbage on a SSD running Vista?

I still use the 256GB C300s and they still give great performance. While they have no TRIM the less space taken by OS & programs allows GC time to work even when the drive is in use.

Please help with steps needed to clone my hard drive...?

;) I knew there'd be trouble. LOL! Booting from a machine with two identical OSs is nothing but a major PITA and should only be used by an advanced user..... who really wouldn't do it in the first place because, IMHO, it's just plain stupid. I can't think of any reason to do this...

dead OCZ Vertex Plus R2 240GB SSD (SAVED once more)

You must work with different mechanics than the ones' I know. LOL! They would consider that a waste of time unless that's all they could afford....and I don't know any like that either. LOL! But...to each their own. :)

    I hate Seagate

But of course. I had 3 Intel 80GB SSDs (series 2) that had to be RMA'd. It was frustrating but I'd didn't go around crying about and would have purchased more larger drives but they were falling behind in the performance and purchased Crucial C-300 units.

CBS Beatles Special was surprisingly GOOD!

While I wouldn't call him the least talented of the four, it's hard to believe that most would think he eclipsed the synergism and/or creativity of the Lennon/McCartney team whether alone or together. Of course, opinions are like assh@les.. everybody's got one. :)

    Is California Worth The Hype?

That mirrors my experience exactly. I have little tolerance for phony/plastic people and while I'm sure there are many honest/real people there I didn't run across any native Californians that weren't phony. Most of my friends moved there in the late 70's thru the 80's and all returned...

Apple removes all bitcoin and other coin apps from its store

Hit the nail on the head. While I have not bothered with Bitcoin, in the past I was a user of E-Gold until the Feds got involved. These two 'currencies' seem to have a lot in common and I believe the fate of Bitcoin will parallel that of E-Gold. Take a little time and read about it here.

Don't buy the WD My Passport USB drive

These 15mm drives are non standard anyway and I would never advocate their purchase. Purchase a standard 2.5 drive/external case and if your enclosure's interface is the problem you can connect the drive directly to the computer with no loss of data or an RMA. You're free to do whatever...

Don't buy the WD My Passport USB drive

Maybe yes and maybe no but at the very least you can remove it from the case to TS drive/case interface problems without the fear of voiding the warranty. I'm glad you've had a positive experience but I would never recommend anyone to purchase a prebuilt external. With the enclosure opened...

Don't buy the WD My Passport USB drive

Best answer in the whole thread except you can't power a 3.5" drive via USB. Anyone who buys a prebuilt external is just asking for trouble.

The top gear guys are fantastic

That was freaking hilarious! LOL! Combine that with the dead cow strapped to Clarkson's roof scene and it makes for a classic episode. The US State Dept. decided that Top Gear was an "entertainment" show and required then to obtain different visas. They were allowed to return for the...

Perplexing Asrock Extreme11 x79 raid problems

In case you're not aware sometimes the sequential read/write rates mean very little and the 4K/4KThrd benchmarks are what matters. It just depends on what you need to do and the Intel RAID is usually much better for the 4K benchmarks. It's the same with all 3rd party chipsets and that's...

Perplexing Asrock Extreme11 x79 raid problems

Nice call. OP, it would have helped tremendously if you would have been more specific about your HW (SSDs or mechanical drives, W7 version) and what you are trying to actually do. I have a feeling that you are wanting RAID0 for increased speeds but with mechanical drives it's...

Perplexing Asrock Extreme11 x79 raid problems

The 1.5" live steam stuff is much more interesting. They can come in machined/un-machined kits or completely built. You can buy used, like the one in my link, for 8-10 grand or go big (4-8-4) for 50. After my interest waned in my American Flyer and HO stuff I got into these @ 1964. I...
