Good point and shoot for $150-$200?

Hey guys, going to Beijing this summer so I need a compact camera that has great image quality. I'm not a professional photographer or anything but I would still like my pictures to look great even if I take them on the go :) Suggestions please!

    HD5870 prices plummet again. Naissss

This. Newegg carries stock on these cards and even if they sell for less than what they paid for these, it's better to get as much cash for them now instead of just letting them sit in your warehouse and rack up inventory costs and taking up a part of your budget. At similar price levels, the...

Palit 3GB GTX 580 Has hit Newegg

For the very few people with 3x 30" monitors, 2x of these in SLI is the best option right now. So this card truly caters to a very niche segment of the market, hence the $100 markup.

    27-30" monitors other than dell

The U2711 can be had for $750~ if you catch one of Dell's promotions. I've seen 3 since last November.

    24'' Ips monitor..U2410?

For me, it's a tossup between the U2410 and the ZR24W. The HP is a bit cheaper and brighter, the Dell has more connectivity and features.

    best brand for ATI 5870

I'd say Asus. They do RMA by S/N, so you just tell them the part number on the back, no need for invoice or anything. XFX requires you register your card w/in 30 days of purchase and submit proof of purchase, and if don't have either no lifetime warranty for you :(

    5870 alternative quiet coolers?

I second Temjin, if you've got no experience w/ changing them, it'll be better if you sold your 5870s and got 2x vapor-x or MSI lightning models. With the cost of 2 aftermarket coolers, it might turn out to be the same cost. As others have mentioned before, changing cooler is a messy process...

No AA in StarCraft II with ATI Cards

Guys, I think one thing we forget is that SC2 was announced in 2007, so they've been working on it since probably 2006 or earlier. That is probably the biggest reason they used DX9 for SC2 instead of DX10/11. But the thing I don't get is, how hard is it to implement AA in the drivers? From...

Question from Nvidia about StarCraft II AA.

What's the difference in fps when HUD is rendered w/ AA vs when it's not? I'd imagine that it wouldn't be much at all, but I could be wrong.

how does the GTX 460 stack up against a 5770?

If you're upgrading because you want to spend money, then might as well go all the way and get a GTX 460 1gb. You know you want to SLI it later down to road for near 5870 crossfire performance.

is nvidia's 258.69 beta driver DRMed?

There was a driver earlier that Nvidia forgot to put the DRM in, and allowed people with crossfire boards to use SLI and people with ATI cards to use a Nvidia card for Physx. It has since been removed by Nvidia and the OP wanted to know if Nvidia will be leaving this restriction out of all beta...

GTX 460 SLI or Wait for Southern Islands

I would definitely get the 1gb versions, for the reason happy_medium showed. The GTX 460 is a great card, but if you can wait till November ~ish, even if Southern Islands don't come out, general GPU prices should drop and you'd be able to score some good deals at Black Friday, which is what I'm...

Well, check out prices in Germany before you decide to do that, it might be a lot more expensive. What about this one? Don't know if it'd still be too big, but it's only 12lbs http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811112249

best value - sub $200 processor and cooler

Sounds like an X6 processor for you! Like the others have mentioned the 1055T would be your best bet. It's better than Intel's competition at highly threaded programs and it will OC very well to boot, should you decide to down the line. As for price, do you have a Fry's nearby? If so, there is...

    Which brand for GTX 470

I would wait for the Asus card if I were in your shoes. They are more reputable, at least in the States, and offer 3 year warranty. I think PNY also has 3 year but it's not as reliable as Asus in my experience and the other manufacturers only offer 2 year or less warranty.

WoW and SC2 - is a bigger monitor better or not?

So.... anyone know how SC2 will scale with 3 monitors or if it'll even scale at all? I'm thinking about getting 3x monitors in portrait mode for gaming and general use.

I'm fricking stuck in the upgrade-swamp>=(

Congrats on your decision, I think you'll be very happy with it. For future reference though, if noise is a priority and you must have PhysX, the Thermalright Spitfire may be worth the consideration as it dramatically lowers your GPU temperatures while running much more quietly than the stock...

    Core i5 650 or i7 860?

Core i7 860 most definitely. The extra $60 will buy you a whole lot of performance in everything besides gaming and IMHO is most definitely worth it.

Or the Silverstone FT02? Great cooling, really quiet, very classy looking and still has plenty of room for components unless you want a Radeon 5970 or something.

What about the Lian Li PC-A71F? It's cheaper than the 800D, just as roomy, all aluminum, and has better stock air cooling.

So where are we at with the 470

All depends on what your needs and requirements are. Generally for 1920x1200 the 5870 is overpowered. So I would go with the 5850 over the 470 due to power/heat/noise/Eyefinity, unless you fold or must have PhysX for some reason. But I agree, if you are going to have more than one video card...

A plea from a PC gamer - Best Single card solution right now?

If you haven't already bought something yet, just go with the GTX480. It's louder, hotter, and definitely more power hungry, but it is definitely faster and that may even improve with newer drivers. Don't know if you have to buy new either, but there's one for sale for $450 in the B/S/T

    5750 & 5770 Crossfire

Whoa, I didn't even know you could crossfire 2 different cards (guess that misconception carried over from SLI). Can you only do that within each generation (4000 series w/ 4000, and 5000 w/ 5000, and so on)?

Keep which rig: P45 Q9450 or 890GX 955BE? how is the USB3.0 routed on AMD?

I have the 955/890 combo as well and I'd go with that personally. The 890GX is a nice little motherboard and supports Thuban in case you want to upgrade in the future, and I'm sure you can push that 955 close to 4 ghz if you tried.
