    Raspberry Pi

Will do. It will probably be a couple of weeks before it is set up as I have to modify the cabling and case, which I bought for it. I'm hoping that as more and more people receive the R-Pis in the next week or two, there will be idiot's guides written for the S/W side.

    Raspberry Pi

There's been lots of delays, but mine will be arriving on Monday. I'm chuffed to bits. I'll let you guys know how I get on with it (don't have a clue how to use Linux, so its a big learning curve for me)

I very much doubt it. The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a registered charity in the UK. Farnell and RS, the UK distributors for the R-Pi are both large legit multinational companies.

Would you eat the new Franken-Salmon?

I will not eat GM fish or any other GM food. There is a big difference between deliberately breeding and genetically modifying desirable characteristics into fish or livestock. I feel (maybe ignorantly) that they are fucking about with something that they cannot guarantee is a 100% safe to...

    Black women and wigs

Same here. I've never seen or heard of black women in the UK shaving their heads and wearing wigs.

Buy.com saved Black Friday *** confirmed***

Looking at the screen shot M0oG0oGaiPan posted, I noticed that they have (or had) precertified Barnes and Noble Nooks for sale. Maybe my Googling skills aren't up-to-scratch today since I couldn't find a explanation, but what does 'precertified' mean in this context? I'm guessing they are...

Buy.com saved Black Friday *** confirmed***

I wished we got deals like that in the UK. For the equivalent 42" plasma TV over here, you would looking to spend £400+ without shipping (i.e. double the price).

    I'm a troll apparently, Are you? :)

As I understand it, Phineas was a member who has been banned multiple times. He comes back every now and again posting under a different pseudonym. The last time he was caught, Perknose (one of the PTB at the AT forum) posted a announcement at the top of the forum about him. I wouldn't worry...

    Are terrorists stupid?

I was thinking along the same lines as amdhunter. There seems to be a lot of effort and money expended in improving airport security, yet it would raise as much terror if the terrorists targeted a ferry, train, bridge or tunnel (I’m thinking Eurotunnel, as an example) where security is...

    World's Ugliest Cat? Or Handsomest?

I need my eyesight tested. I'm sure the thread title said World's Ugliest Car. Since its about cats, meh.

Seemed like a good idea at the time

I like the way that his mate punches him in the chest immediately after being shot. Nice move.

    More Buffy, less Whedon.

I always thought Fox missed a trick not doing a movie version of the TV show using the same actors / actresses (similar to Firefly and Serenity). Their proposal is going to fail miserably.

I would say P&N. I venture in there very rarely and I'm pleased when I leave with my sanity (or what little remains of it ;)).

Am I the only one who doesn't like turkey?

Parma ham is nice especially when it is served with water melon as an appetiser. We will probably be having this on Christmas day before the roast Turkey.

Say what you will about Italians, but they sure know how to design beautiful cars

I would expect this to be done by Ferrari for the amount of money they are charging per car.

I want to have that at Christmas one year.

This is the worst idea I have ever heard of.

That is exactly what I was thinking. They also have it in Durham (England) city centre as well. It is an easy way of boosting the city council coffers, plus they can periodically increase the charge in the name of reducing pollution and congestion. Essentially it is a tax.

    Worst Car Design Ever.

The design was flawed, however the thinking behind buying a three-wheeled car was to benefit from a loophole in UK vehicle licensing and tax: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliant_Robin The van version used in Only Fools and Horses made the Robin famous in the UK:

Am I the only one who doesn't like turkey?

Its probably more a cultural thing, since in England it is traditionally: Turkey on Christmas (with Christmas pudding for dessert) Ham on Boxing Day (day after Christmas)

Am I the only one who doesn't like turkey?

That looks good, but inappropriate for Christmas.

Am I the only one who doesn't like turkey?

I don't like turkey, although one year I want to try a "Russian doll" roast, like this (with fewer birds): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-502605/It-serves-125-takes-hours-cook-stuffed-12-different-birds---really-IS-Christmas-dinner.html

Has anyone here gone to see the "new" movie Skyline?

The general consensus from the reviews I've read is that it is a sh*t movie. Good enough reason for me not to pay to see it in the cinemas.
