Hi, hoping this is the right form to post this in. I'm trying to Enlarge the Windows recovery partition because I can no longer run Windows update. After scouring the web for info I figured out that I need to enlarge it to roughly 750 MB. It is currently sitting at 450 MB. I was able to find...
1. Thank you lehtv for the response. My PS is about 4-5 years old and I don't have a lot of hours on it. The past couple of years I'm maybe turning that PC on for 4 hours a night max if that. Its not nearing its 100,000 hour lifespan.
2. The case is an Ultra Aluminus Case.
3. I like the sound...
Hi brilliant people of AnandTech forms,
I'm building a new PC with in the next week or so as my ~7-year-old PC's MB is dying. I mostly do development work, data analytics and some gaming (Diablo 3, SC2). I stopped by Microcenter, and have now decided to go with a i7 7700k considering its $300...
You can still get them shipped. You just have to do it one at a time. It says the shopping cart exceeds the weight limit for shipping. Also it looks like free shipping.
Just a heads up, I had issues with this card and the RAMed version too. The drivers would crash often in my system even after a clean install of windows. I ended up with an Asus card instead that is working flawlessly.
I've gotten the 1gb version RMAed twice now and the card keeps crashing on me. I ended up having to returning it. It could have been my PC but I've tried it in other PCs and the same issue occurred.
Hello sgtrobo, did you end up picking up a widi device? I just purchased a new laptop that has built in widi and was hoping to find an adapter for my TV. Most of the reviews on Amazon sound like the devices don't really work.
I have a similar one that doesn't bend and it works pretty well. Just annoying trying to figure out what people are saying on Skype. Just use your headphones either way you have to carry something around and they have a mic built-in.
Thats the dilemma I have had, the 930 or the 860. So many good arguments for both sides. Also I did the math on for the PSU and there is no way I need anything over 600 watt. I don't plan on putting two high-end video cards in the system. Also wouldn't it affect the efficiency of the PSU if you...
so upon your suggestion I'm going to get this chip (G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277). Can you briefly explain or point me to a resource explaining the difference in voltage and what advantage it gives?
Hello All, I greatly value your input and haven't purchased a system or major upgrade parts without it thus far. Can you please once again come up big and help me iron out any kinks on the system build that I'm putting together?
1. What YOUR PC will be used for: Light gaming and mostly...
I purchased one for my uncle about a month ago and it looks great. Didn't give him or me any issues. Granted he just uses for everyday use such as web and spread sheets. Some times even watches a movie sitting on couch in his office roughly 10 feet away. But he did mention that he wished it was...
I am leaning now more toward the 930 as there seems to be more advantage to socket 1366. I don't build a new PC often (my current box is at least 8 years old) so money isn't a huge issue this time around. Still I'm keeping it kind of conservative as I simply don't need top of the line power and...
Thanks for your advice keypox, that's kind of what I was looking for. I am going to stick with i860 p55 though, going either gigabit or asus. However I will check the site for tutorials to see which board will work better since it's a toss-up for me now.
you could always check out the emulator. you still need a copy of the game but play free. http://www.eqemulator.org/ This thing allowed me to kick my addiction to eq back in the day because you can run your own server and do anything.
It looks like Microcenter sells the 930 for $229.99. which is exactly how much the 860 costs. So with this in mind would it be wise then to go with the 930?
I'm not looking for a mac just have the os as a novelty that is all.
Thats what I'm saying is that I don't care about over clocking so the 860 would be the better choice. However I like your self am leaning more toward socket 1366 and the x58 chipset. However performance and feature wise will...
So I'm ready to build/upgrade my current system and am kind of in a bind trying to figure out which path to go. I really like what the i7 860 has to offer however the motherboard features don't seem as future proof as 1366 boards. I like the idea of having usb 3 and sata 6 ready to go when...
According to CPU-Z it is a San Diego, 90nm
I never use my 2nd DVD drive and probably should take it out of my system. Also 2 of the hard drive are idle most of the time one just having an install of windows7 the other backup.
Thanks everyone for your advise it has been a real big help and I would have definitely ended up spending too much on a card that I would not take full advantage of. Also thanks for the random tidbits of insight into the power supply world. That will be something that I will take into account in...
I have the following in my current system:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 4000+
MB: EPoX 9NPA+Ultra
Memory: 4 sticks of PC3200
2x sata hard drives 7200rpm and 1x IDE
1 dvd drive and 1 dvd burner
I can get more detailed if necessary.
I just read reviews of my power supply and it looks like it isn't good enough for any of the mid range cards. Meaning I will either have to buy a cheap card now and upgrade everything later or get a decent power supply now and a mid range card. Thermaltake Purepower 430W NP Power Supply (Picture...
Hello all,
First I would like to thank you guys upfront for reading this long post and I appreciate any comments that you may have on the below specs.
I'm looking to upgrade my video card in my main rig from a GeForce 6600 GT 128mb PCI-E mainly because the fan is getting loud and I would...
Exactly, I had the same option when I ordered it yesterday. It just doesn't make sense to get the pro with this deal. If you need to expand the memory there are way to do so using a laptop HDD.
I got this remote last time dell ran this deal and was impressed by how no matter what I threw at it, it had in its online database. I have a complicated A/V setup with a projector and auto lights and was able to set the remote up my self for the most part. However I was still having problems...
