heres my problem. If I plug in headphones to the green headphone jack on my laptop I only get sound from the left ear. If I position the connecter just right by pushing it all the way to the right and into all sorts of weird positions i can manage to get sound out of both ears but if i so much...

my roommates laptop used to do this. all it took was a can of compressed air to clear out the dust in the vents, it still overheats like crazy but it doesnt shutdown anymore :P
