When i first iinstalled the VIA drivers for video display, every time i booted my system, I would get these wierd green wavy lines all over my monitor. with a block of green at the top and bottom.

I had the same problem with the Asus V7700 GeForce2 GTS.
Its something to do with the VIA drivers you install.
Don't install the VGART driver for video, and use the normal GeForce2 drivers and everything should work as normal.:)
