just noticed that compgeeks has montego IIs for $19.95 They're vortex2 based so you get A3D2. A better deal I think.

This is an excellent soundcard. nothing beats A3D2 w/ heaphones. Too bad they went bust but maybe Creative will implement the best features of A3D on the next get EAX.

yeah, get the 566. I've got one on my BM6 and it runs @ 850 with no problems. Also make sure your peripherals can run out of spec (i.e. not at 66 or 100 mhz). I could probably run faster thank 850 but my hard drive doesn't like running out of spec.

I have a tcp/ip network between my desktop and laptop. Transferring a 5mb file from desktop to laptop takes 10 seconds while transferring the identical file from laptop to desktop takes over 2 min. Why? I pinged both and the results are identical: 0% lost packets w/ avg = 2ms. Where's the...
