    Bootvis & A7N8X deluxe

The gain might be minimal, but you have a really slow bootup it's nice to see what is causing the problem.

    Which one of these 3 Ti4200 ?

Maybe we don't want to pay the extra $100 for that card. Especially when we know we will more than like buy another one soon for full dx9 and the new generation of games like doom3. When we can get a 4200 for 115 at newegg that extra 100 is quite a difference. Why would you bother with a 5600...

    Bootvis & A7N8X deluxe

maybe I willl try again. I like the tool, especially having just done a clean install of windows it is nice to get everything set up and then optimize from the start. I'm glad it worked for you, that gives me more confidence. Maybe I used it prematurely (having just built the machine from...

    What's a fair price

Thats kind of where my problem is. I did that and came up with around $400 before the monitor, OS and programs. I actually bought the CD-RW new so he would have a fast one. So after the monitor and OS I settled on 500. Granted, the monitor isn't new, but it works great. I ran some...

    Bootvis & A7N8X deluxe

Does anyone know what the deal is with the A7N8X board running bootvis. I just installed the board and, after loading winxp, tried to run bootvis. It just locked up during the reboot. I had come across something about this problem in the forums somewhere, but a search produced nothing...

Anyone here use bootvis? Please help.

like bsobel said, just let it trace a few times (about 5 is good) so it can figure out what happens when you boot up. Then run the optimize feature and it will speed things up for you. The graphs just show you what is being loaded at which times. The bottom bar of the graph is Time (seconds)...

    Which one of these 3 Ti4200 ?

I went with the MSI yesterday. Knowing I will buy another one in the next 6-12 months kept me from worrying too much about the best. My old GF2 Ti was handling everything I have been doing quite well, so this should be a good step up. It was the software that got me with MSI: Ghost Recon...

What is the best bios version for A7N8x-D PCB revision 2.0? I have been hearing a lot about 1002a, but this seems to be for PCB r1.03. .04, .06. What is the bet for 2.0?

Upgrading computer except HDD, new WinXP install?

I got every thing up and running last night. I just reformatted the primary partition and installed clean. I tried to repair the installation but it just kept locking during setup. Now I just have to reload all my programs. Thanks for the advice.

Does anyone know if you can tile only selected windows? I don't want to resize everything I have open, just two or so.

Upgrading computer except HDD, new WinXP install?

That is a brilliant plan. I have wanted to do something like that in the past bust wasn't sure i could load programs on another partition. I already keep all data that I save in specific locations so it is easy to backup/move. Everything came in the mail today so I will dig into it tonight...

Upgrading computer except HDD, new WinXP install?

I agree. Thus my questioning. I was selling my old machine to a friend so I hadn't given much thought to using it since I formatted in in preperation for a clean install of windows for him. But I could finish my setup before moving the drive. This sounds like the best plan to me.
