xp does not have native support for this printer model. i could try other models that xp does support, but have not tried that as yet. i did try to remove the status monitor once it was installed, but once installation has occured the damage is done. [i used xp restore to go back to a point...

thanks, once it is installed, the system will not run whether the printer is attached or not. once the epson status monitor loads in the system tray, the system reboots on it's own. the workaround i've found is to install the nt4 drivers [the only ones that come without the status monitor.]...

has anyone else seen this.... install an epson stylus c82 printer via usb to a system with an asus k7n266. [win xp pro] print test page. fine. print page from notepad. fine. restart computer, runs slow, won't print. restart computer again, won't boot all the way to windows. nothing came up...
