I used to have one, before i got a new case it would get so hot it would shut off occasionally. This was running at stock speeds, I googled around and i guess the do get pretty hot.

I just have been benchmarking at stock, looks to be 70-75. I guess thats hot enought, since it already runs everything i play at 1280 really well. I guess if i need to, ill overclock when it starts to show its age a little more.

I have overclocked my AGP AIW x800xt to x850xt speeds, and ran 3dmark 05 for 30mins, and my max temperature was 87 celcius. I know this is high for a CPU, but is it safe for a video card? I didnt see any artifacts, and the fan didnt seem to be spinning overly fast. Anyone have any experience...

Is a DVI hookup on a monitor worth the extra cost? I can get a Samsung 740N for 215, analog only, or a Samsung with DVI for 235, and id have to buy a DVI cable, making it 250. Is the pictue THAT much clearer, or will analog input be just fine. The LCd will be for gaming and web browsing...

Yes, it will be quite an upgrade. I'm a WoW addictmyself, and with 9800PRO i was runnning 1024x768, mostly med/high settings, 4X Multisampling, and 40-55 FPS. I got an x800xt, and it now runs at 1280x1024 everything on max. What are the rest of your sytem specs? What settings does he run WoW on now?

I paid 289 at newegg + shipping. I know i could have gotten a 7800GT for 300, but it seemed like a waste to get a new mobo and processor and everything. It the AIW version too, so if i get ambitious i can make a PVR.
