what if after I upgrade to the Windows 7 on top of my XP and want to format my computer or something.... Do I need to install XP then install Windows 7 on top of it again??

I'm having problem with sound right now. At random times the sound becomes small and comes back to normal sound level at random times again. Could this be problem with motherboard's sound card? or is it likely problem with speakers? I have Logitech X-540 speakers and my mobo is GIGABYTE...

I just put in second hard drive to my desktop and it doesn't show up on My Computer menu. It is recognized in BIOS and in device manager. Is there something i need to do to let the computer recognize the hard drive?

My temp delta is pretty big too. Lowest temp core is 27-28 at ideal but highest temp core avg is 37-38 at ideal =/ about 10 degrees delta... I should remount too...

I understand what you mean ahah but are those temp at load? if it is, it seems to me it's fine.

I don't know if it's same for your fan but for my Zalman 9700 I had to go to bios-> PC health status -> smart FAN control mode and change that from auto to pwm my mobo is not same as yours but prob same option since mine is gigabyte also. my board is P35-DS3P rev. 2.0

Your fan rpm looks low to me. mine running about 1400 rpm.

my G0 Q6600 VID is 1.3125 = I'd say thats pretty high too... well I'm running mine at 3.2(356x9) with 1.296V (in cpu-z) and my ideal temp is around 30-35 I didn't try going higher but perhaps I should when I'm bored. =)

I have my Q6600 OCed to 3.2 on Gigabyte P35-DS3P mobo It works great and all but when I try to turn on the computer with my external hard drive connected to computer, mobo just resets my OC settings and goes back to stock setting. But it's not clearing CMOS neither. Only speed goes back to...
