What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

Yes! ASRock released a 2.20 bios for this mobo, that says to patch the PCI-E slot supportive for this videocard. Tried it, and every game I've tested including Crysis work without issues! :D

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

I just tried the demo of Prey (which is an OpenGL game), and it worked just fine except for some strange stuttering here and there. No artifacts, no corrupted textures, or stretched vertices from what I managed to see. It indeed could be true, that these Catalyst 7.11's have an issue of some...

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

Damn, it seems that even the Sapphire card shares a similar problem. Haven't tried many games yet, but tried 3DMark06 and here's the result: http://i143.photobucket.com/al...airs_bucket/3dmark.jpg I also get this kind of artifacts in 2D usage, in some sites...

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

^ Would be a bit strange if it showed that incompatibility as this kind of weird artifacts in-game... who knows, it's the world of computers, but I'll still RMA the card. :)

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

^ Yeah, I've decided to RMA this card. Better be safe than sorry, I guess. :)

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

Power issue? I think my PSU should produce enough power for that card (33amps on the +12V line, that's nearly 400w)... unless the PSU's broken somehow, but then the computer wouldn't work?

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

Well, I've tested like 3 more games now; Enemy Territory, ET: Quake Wars and the demo of Bioshock. The two first mentioned work fine or so it seems, but B began to artifact already in the menu (no similar artifacts to Crysis though). So, that makes about 3 games that funtion, out of 7-8 total...

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

http://i143.photobucket.com/al...airs_bucket/screen.jpg http://i143.photobucket.com/al...rs_bucket/screen_2.jpg Not sure if those are the correct infos you want... Anyhoo, tried to mess around with the fan a bit, seems it was running @ about 30% speed in idle. Changed to 64% speed now...

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

Well, here's the list of my GPU's stuff in PC Wizard, dunno if this helps: General Information : Manufacturer : ATI Technologies Inc (ATI Technologies Inc) Model : ATI Technologies Inc Bus Type : PCI-Express Total Memory : 256 MB Texture Memory : 756 MB Processor : ATI Radeon...

What's wrong with my ATI HD3850???

I got my HD3850 today, installed it no problem and 2D seems to work fine. But, then tried Crysis and it brought weird glitches in textures, and objects. Tried to install the hotfix, but it gave no difference. Then, tried Gmod (for HL2), and it also shared the same problem. I remember running...

    ATI HD3850, or HD3870???

^ Well ok-ok, was just kidding with that statement. Self-irony, anyone? :D Anyhoo, they managed to send me my HD3850 already, although tried to cancel it... case closed then, I guess.

    ATI HD3850, or HD3870???

Sadly they don't sell any ''exotic'' brands here in Finland... shitty country. :P

    ATI HD3850, or HD3870???

Okay, I've been torn between these two cards a while, so to speak. Anyway, the HD3850 is probably enough fast for my needs, but I'd like to get a very decent upgrade over my current Radeon X1650 Pro. The HD3870, on the other hand, has higher clocks, better cooler and stuff like that, but it...

    GPU Voltage Monitoring Programs???

I've tried to make a pencil mod to my Radeon X1650 Pro (by the X1300 guide, found on Techpowerup), and the layout was actually very similar as to that card. Used a HB pen, and pencilled over the marked spots. The core and memory actually artifacted faster than before when I OC'd... dunno' if I...

    RV670 to beat R600

Well, I have a Intel Core 2 E4300 @ stock, 2gb DDR2 667mhz, one HDD, and no external fans except for PSU, and GPU (Zalman VF-900), I think. Still not ''low'' enough? :(
