As there are VA monitors with no input lag, like the lolair MB24W (MVA) and Hyundai W241D (S-PVA), the first post should not make a general claim that VA panels have "High input lag" Lag is anyway a function of the driving electronics, not the panel itself.

There is an option in BIOS Setup under "AHCI Configuration" called "AHCI CD/DVD Boot Time out". It was set to 15. I changed it to 0 and now the delay is gone :-)

It was probably said already: If a product lacks an advertised feature, then that is a bulletproof ground to return it and get your money back. Most jurisdictions (EU for example) give consumers a 2 year time (counting from the moment of purchase) for this.

Hi! I have an Asus P5K-E WiFi mobo (BIOS 1012) wit a Samsung SH-S203 SATA DVD-RW unit. When I boot a CD in the unit, there is a 20 second long delay. With every CD I tried. After the delay the CD boots and works fine. This happens if I select the CD to boot with the BIOS boot menu (F8)...
