    crap, EVGA has me scared

    I'm in the exact same position as you man. My 7900GT CO will be here Monday from Newegg. I'm scared to open it b/c of the same reasons. I don't want to keep RMAing a week from now. I was thinking of ditching the card altogether and getting an ATI x1800XT.
