I have a 8 gigs ddr3 2400
an intel 4670k at 4.3
and I am rocking a gtx 670
I need a decent gaming video card upgrade without breaking the bank. Right now on 1080, but would like hit 1440 when my monitor goes TU. it's 7 years old.
Thoughts?
Currently using a xtreme gamer xf-fi card. I am getting a little tired of constantly having to "fix" it when something decides to hang it up, or the computer reboots. My MOBO has onboard 892. I was thinking about using that instead, but my son wants a new sound card for gaming.
Is it worth...
I have been eeking my 670 out for an extra year.. it would appear that was a mistake. I can no longer afford a 1070 which is what I had budgeted my cash for. I have gotten to where I can run things, but have to turn settings down.. am I out of PC gaming for a while? are there other options...
Not a lot of cash here.
i5 4670k at 4.3hz
8gigs ddr3 at 2400mhz
Nvidia 670
antec true power 750
xtreme gamer sound card
gaming at 1080 with hopes for more later
So.. my thinking is video card.. maybe 1070
or should I wait for vega...
or should I go for a 480 and add 8 more gigs of ram?
or...
So My computer currently has an SSD running the OS and main programs.
Plus I have a WD Black that I have used in a partitioned state of 750 and 250.
I got a new 4TB HD and immediately split it into 2TB paritions. One for Games and one for media.
I am now questioning the value of...
okay I have got myself to this point which I think is good, but I am unsure on the mobo. Can someone advise me on that portion

Yeah, I can't do MIRs because the budget is $1000. I don't have 6 months to wait to get that money back and I don't have the extra $200 it costs now to pay above the budget whilst I wait.
So it will be for gaming.
I live in the US
There is no Microcenter (oregon here)
I don't have a preference except I prefer intel for Procs
This is for my Brother in law so I am unsure on OC.. he isn't that tech savy, but at some point I may boost him up.

Moving diablo 3 to an SSD was one of the best things I did. It likes to do a lot of loading. This helps a lot with the hitches that look like FPS drops, but are infact not.
I thought Nvidia was already doing this in Opengl which is why they have their own specific extensions.. and why games based on opengl run faster on nvidia hardware.
