Help with settings for QSoft RamDisk

The two benchmarks I have seen suggested that ImDisk may be a slower performer (although I haven't seen any good recent benchmarks directly comparing performance with Win 7 64 Pro, which is what I'm using).

Help with settings for QSoft RamDisk

How much of that is due to Superfetch? http://www.osnews.com/story/21471/SuperFetch_How_it_Works_Myths Anyway, thanks for putting a lot of thought into the response, but I actually have 32GB RAM, so I'm not wanting for more memory space. I used 4GB/12GB/16GB in the OP just for the sake of example.

Help with settings for QSoft RamDisk

I need help choosing the settings for QSoft's RamDisk (now WinRamTech's RamDriv). I don't understand the difference between their "resident memory" and "system memory," or what "reserve" means. If I have 16 GB RAM and I want to reserve 4GB for use by the OS (Win 7 64 Pro) and background...

    Samsung 840 Pro's in RAID 0

That article helps! It looks like just about everything that Magician does can be done through other means. The main question I have is how to update the firmware without using Magician.

    Samsung 840 Pro's in RAID 0

Well, I don't know whether I need Magician at all. That's part of my question. Samsung hasn't provided clear info on exactly what all Magician does so that I can make the decision easily. I haven't found any separate manual or guide for download on the website explaining what Magician does. On...

    Samsung 840 Pro's in RAID 0

Is Samsung's Magician software necessary to be able to use the Samsung 840 Pro SSDs? What functionality exactly does the Magician software provide? I want to set up two 840 Pro drives in RAID 0, along the lines described in Anand's article from August 2012, only using 840s instead of the 830s...

Please help with loose RJ45 connections

I actually tried to find one of them during the trip. Unsuccessfully. :( (Granted, a slow connection is better than no connection at all, but how much do the USB-ethernet adapters slow down the network stream?)

Please help with loose RJ45 connections

Can someone suggest a brand of ethernet cables that have slightly larger than average connectors? I have a laptop whose RJ45 port has become very finicky. The connection it makes with most ethernet cables is too loose to allow a reliable network signal. It got to the point a few months ago that...
