As I go through search engines and Wacom's knowledge base their tablet drivers have a lot of issues when it comes to restarting machines - however I cannot find a problem similar to mine. When ever I restart my computer the tablet is automatically in relative (mouse) mode - typical and functions...
I built a new machine back in September of 2006 and it ran flawlessly (including benchmarks) until September of 2007 (go figure). The system showed no signs of failure (my last machine fried & failed in enough ways I know the symptoms) but when I was playing the Team Fortress 2 beta I had a...
Ah, I finally figured it out. Turns out the Vista provided Nvidia drivers are causing a real mess leading to a detour to manually install fresh drivers prior to Vista starting up for the first time - at least this issue is for any 7950gx2's out there. Even then I'm still running only 1 GPU due...
Well, the crash always moved so fast I could never tell what the crash error was - originally I was getting a system_service_exception error when I was crashing. Out of curiosity I used Vista's memory test utility once and after that I no longer crash right away upon trying to boot to Vista -...
Any suggestions on how to get x64 to run? Im going to try x32 here in a couple days but I'm getting respsonses from friends that their x64 versions install and run just fine.
I'm trying to install Windows Vista RC1 x64 and I'm having a couple issues. It seems that I can install to an empty partition just fine right up until the install is going through its "Finalizing Install" phase right at the very end. This happens after I get a message stating the OS is booting...
Ok, I find this is strictly a Windows problem. I was forced into a format previously when it refused to properly do a Windows repair (always crashed). The system ran fine until the same stuff begins to happen. This is the pattern:
Windows will load and hang for a second at the welcome screen...
I'll have to check out APC's site. Brick Wall was definately interesting but its quite pricy (I'm looking around $50-$100) - definately on my favorites, though. Any other suggestions? Thanks guys!
Prior to building my new machine I have been given the suggestion of a UPS with burnout protection to avoid another failing power supply. Well, I know a UPS is really usefully for outages & brownouts but I think the issue I'm trying to avoid is just a crappy current in this old building. So...
I built a new rig a week ago and every thing ran smooth until I started fetching the most up-to-date drivers.
The issue is that Windows loads and when it normally switches over to the desktop (that blib for the resolution change) the monitor loses signal and there is no (appearent)HDD...
Never mind, definate mobo faliure
While I was going through the mobo I found a bad capacitor - which is an understatement. It looked as if it leaked & squirted over a couple other capacitors which is a no brainer.
So, looks like a new mobo & new PSU for me, *glee!* Too bad I cant do it...
I removed every thing from the Mobo, which is completely bare now, and I get no audible beeps or error codes. Power does run to every thing, fans work - the monitor gets a signal from the GPU - just nothing loads. I did find a spare PSU but I believe it was too old to work - all I ever got was a...
My computer has been running fine for the last few months - the only issues have been hard drive issues. I was browsing the internet when the screen stutters & goes blank - the typical system crash. I restart and nothing happens - which I should elaborate; nothing happens. No POST screen, not...
Since it is most likely the PSU, would the HDD have any physical damage that I would have to be aware of? Or would the drive simply be malfunction? This coming from the direction that when I do replace the PSU will the drive fail since the last PSU damaged it?
While on the subject, talking...
