This problem only occur when I have an external drive attached to the system. If I have a usb mouse attached, there would be no slowdown to transfer rate. Only when I have external hdd or usb memory stick, then the hdd transfer rate would go down to the same transfer speed of the usb device(very...
I've been searching up the culprit to this problem for a while.
Currently, I have a Athlon XP 2000+ system(I know it's old...but meh...no job)
with KT266A chipset motherboard that has USB2.0
HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax 9 80GB ATA133
The hdd itself is running fine, getting around 45MB/s...
Yah, I understand the fact that they won't OC that well.
I guess what i'm looking for is valueram that can do better than they're rated, whether it is in terms of timing or speed.
I'd like to OC my 2.4C with 1:1 ratio instead of the 5:4.
I guess it will be limited, but since i'm...
Right now i'm running 2X256MB Kingston Valueram at 2.5-2-3-6 with 2.4C.
I've been thinking of getting up to the 1GB area and looking at the memory prices, 4 brands have valueram in the same price area.
Corsair Value Select PC3200 CAS3
Kingmax PC3200 CAS3
Kingston Valueram PC3200...
2X80mm fan
CPU is on Volcano 6CU...lapped...with ceramique...
I'm sure the 2000+ would be cooler than the Tbird right?
those 1.3-1.4GHz ones were like the hottest of the bunch...
The 2000+ is Palomino. (I don't expect a good OC out of this)
My mobo will support anything as long as it's 266FSB...
Right now I do not know if the cpu will be free or I have to pay for it.
The T-bird 1.333GHz that I have is already OC from 1200(200FSB).
This is just my secondary...
do u have two sticks of ram right now?
that score sounds like a single channel set up.
Also, the reason why u can't play battlefield may not be due to ur motherboard, but maybe ur video card?
can u tell us what video card u have as that affects the game greatly. Nowadays, the video card is...
I've also thought of this as a driver issue, as i do not hear the noise until XP is started. I have 1015, with all the sound settings tried before. I've ran memtest before for 24 hrs(i have Kingston ram). My PCI/AGP is locked at 33/66. I've tried to reinstall my video driver or tried earlier...
no...i just plug in sony/panasonic earphones into the green jack...
I'm still trying to find a way to fix it
if i have time, i will take apart the whole comp again, just leave out my mobo on a cardboard and try it that way...
if that still doesn't work, i'm gonna rma the board...hopefully...
just to refer to the lock of AGP/PCI. On day one that i got the motherboard, i did have it locked at 66/33. Therefore that is not the problem. As a sidenote...when i installed the very first version available from asus which is 3581, there will be a screeching sound emitted from inside the case...
