I have a strange problem.
If I plug my computer straight to the broadband modem, the internet works fine and I get a green light on the back of my network card. However, I need to share the internet connection with another computer. I have a d-link 604 router that works just great with my...
Correct Gagan.
While I have played around with o'cing in the past, I don't really care to get squeeze the last few drops of performance from my machine at the cost of reducing the lifetime of the parts.
If it plays my games with a fluid framerate then I don't need anymore performance...
So get an SLI motherboard but only use one video card?
Doesn't that seem a bit strange?
I know he said for "GPU LONGEVITY", but I don't see how the GPU lives longer in an SLI board as opposed to an Ultra board.
Anyone care to explain?
I'm building a new gaming rig next month.
I am going dual core regardless just because I'm a geek and looking forward to owning one. Probably going with the AMD 4200+ X2.
My question to you is whether or not I get a motherboard that supports SLI or not. Please let me know what you think...
So I'm in the market for an AMD machine.
Haven't decided on single core or dual core yet.
It will be primarily used for gaming.
I see the Venice and the San Diego core are out in full force.
What core do you guys recommend... and more importantly... why?
Yah yah yah.
Let's just face it that games are really never going to have *HUGE* gains in performance from a dual core CPU system. Even if the application is designed to use many threads, games by nature follow a single threaded execution path.
Think about it. You're playing HL2, you...
Yay a gold star for me!!
My first gold star.
Today must be my lucky day hahaha.
I have also read that having 2 CPU's can slow down some games... which I'm wondering about. I know it is possible in Windows to tell a program to "BIND" to one CPU only. This should get it back to the same...
mdchesne,
You are VERY confused I can tell.
You are assuming that your HTT multiplier and your CPU multiplier are the same thing!
It's not the case.
You have Corsair Value RAM according to your profile, set a very low RAM divider and up your HTT until your CPU chokes so that you...
What does everyone think about the results posted by Anandtech regarding dual core?
Not sure if there are any huge benefits regarding the typical gamer PC.
I'll probably stay away from it for a couple of years until it may become viable.
That's just it though
I think most people know that they cannot multitask 2 CPU intensive programs because of the fact we only have 1 CPU. We usually run one and turn the other one off.
We will be able to do this now.
It'll help me out for sure. I do alot of computer simulation...
