To Losty: If your HD and NEC 3500 are on the same IDE connector they will operate at the LOWEST speed of the two - 33mgz of the NEC. When burning the NEC is using a high percentage of the available bandwidth. Make sure that the two devices are on separate IDE channels.

Just run Task Manager and look at the CPU usage during BF2. If it is a cpu intensive game, then you will get crappy burns.

You may have a defective (or cranky) Nvidia nic. Upgrade Nvidia drivers to newest "stand alone" version. Try disabling Active Armor. If all else fails, use other (Marvell) nic. That usually works but you lose the firewall function, so have a software one ready.
