    How to tell difference X2 4400+ 110w vs 89w?

I overclocked it right from start: 2200MHz -> 2651MHz. Under overclock conditions it hovers around 34 idle and 42C Full load. I use a venus 12 cooler and run the variable speed fan at around 3500rpm which is closer to the lower end of its speed. Should this mean that it is a 89w part?

    How to tell difference X2 4400+ 110w vs 89w?

I took a look at that link before I posted this question. The problem is that both Open PIB part numbers are the same: ADA4400CDBOX - there doesn't seem to be any other information that can distinguish the cpus. The only difference is in the OPN (Tray) - I don't know what this means - where the...

    How to tell difference X2 4400+ 110w vs 89w?

I just discovered that there are two variations of the X2 4400+ - a 110w part and a newer 89w part. How can I tell the difference using Cpu-Z or using some other software means on an existing installation?

    X2 affinity performace gains (a must read)UPDATED!!!

There is no need for Windows Resource Mangager. A free and wonderful tool called THG Task Assignment Manager V1.0 is an excellent tool to set affinity of single threaded apps to specific processors. The performance differences can be dramatic. My Matlab (single threaded) benched a score of 35...

    SiSandra Memory Benchmarks question

I have a dual core setup with 4 * 512MB PC3200 OCZ Premier modules in dual channel mode with 2.5-3-3-6-2T timings. I get a Sisandra Memory benchmark score of appx. 4400MB/s. Isn't this very low compared to the theoretical limit of 6400MB/s? I know I am running CAS 2.5 and 2T, but I would still...

    HT & FSB doubt

My MB does not come with a HT multiplier, only a HT value (I guess this is in lieu of the multiplier). Take a look at the BIOS screen: http://www.geocities.com/vvume_inq/Bios.gif The values I can set for the HT Frequency are 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000. Anything other than 200 crashes my...

    HT & FSB doubt

What is the logic behind having a HT value > FSB on AMD 64 cpus? After all the HT still has to wait for the FSB to send in data. I can possibly see it affecting inter-cpu/core communication since they happen over internal HTs, but not with the main memory. Can someone enlighten me? The...

    Problem setting HT value

Hi, I am using a MSI K8T800 Neo2-FIR (K8T800 Pro chipset) motherboard with an X2 4400+ and 4*512MB OCZ Premier value memory. This MB does not sport a HT multiplier, instead it gives an option to set the actual HT Frequency as 200/400/600/800/1000. The problem I am facing is that any HT...

    2006-2007 computer hardware advances?

What will be new in terms of major computer hardware for 2006-2007 (cpu, memory, motherboard, hard drives, etc.) on the DESKTOP front? 2005 has been a very significant year in terms of release of duality (particularly dual core, also SLI/crossfire). For the first time you don't need a...

    Athlon 64 Async OC comments

Hi, Most of the websites that deal with overclocking have nothing positive to say about async overclocking. While I understand that it certainly not as good as 1:1 overclocking, doing an async might still produce better results than much lower 1:1 overclocking? I managed to overclock my...
