    Upgrade Advice: SSD vs Redundancy

By Steam game backup, I meant backing up the game install files, not user generated save files. Restoring the game backup is supposed to eliminate the need to re-download the entire game, but I have had bad luck with this. Trying to restore a game installation for Killing Floor, Rainbow Six...

    Upgrade Advice: SSD vs Redundancy

I'm on a budget and considering several options as storage upgrades. What I hope to accomplish is an increase in performance, and some data redundancy. I am currently considering three options, but am open to more ideas. My case is designed for mini-itx, and can fit: 2 x 2.5 drives plus 2 x...

    Laptop cd-rom tray for expansion?

Fresh install, so not a problem with the OS (used recovery partition as we could not use dvd drive or external). And no firewire on this one. I've seen plenty of usb/sata adapters and converters, so I was just hoping that some company had designed a laptop drive caddy that used the sata...

    7750 ddr3 vs 7750 ddr5

Title pretty much says it all. I am looking for a budget video card for a friend, and, due to case limitations, it has to be a 1 slot card. After checking the benchmarks over at PassMark, I've settled on the Radeon 7750. Problem is, I found two (1 slot) models which appear to be identical other...

Putting Together a Computer for the Average User

Forgot to mention the motherboard! It is the Biostar TForce TF7025-M2. Good bang for the buck, and the onboard Geforce 7025 should be able to handle High-Definition for your friend, though I am not sure on this.

Putting Together a Computer for the Average User

If you have not bought the computer yet, (or even if you have), I would suggest getting two of the same harddrives and raiding them together. By mirroring them you greatly decrease the chance that your friend will lose any of his valuable data (in this case, pictures). Backing-up the pictures...
