Thanks for the advice and tips. I've decided to just get a new system with a few parts carrying over from current system (PSU/Hard Drive/Monitor/Keyboard/Mouse). I guess it's time to upgrade from XP to Windows 7, especially since Battlefield 2 doesn't allow more than 1x AA on DX9 systems and...
What's the new AMD architecture coming out? Isn't the 6990 the top of the line right now?
I also heard that BF3 can use hyperthreading. If that's the case, should I go for an i7 2600k instead?
System specs are:
C2D E6700 @ 2.66 GHz
4 Gig DDR2 Memory
Radeon HD 4890
Corsair TX650W PSU
Dell 2407 WFP Monitor (running games at 1920x1200)
Dell WG855 motherboard
Thanks in advance for all the advice!
I want to up the performance of Battlefield Bad Company 2.
I'm currently using a 4890HD and am thinking of upgrading to 6950HD.
I've got an old computer with an E6700 2.66 Dual Core.
Will the CPU bottleneck a 6950HD 2Gb Graphics card?
If so, will it bottleneck it a lot or will it still be decent?
