It isn't a brand new board, but I highly recommend the Asus K8V SE Deluxe. It comes standard with gigabit LAN, but it runs awesome. I have had mine up for over a month with no issues whatsoever.

I have posted how to get 5.1 analog working at www.msi.com.tw. It is under a post entitled 5.1 Analog. So far I have gotten UT, Deus Ex, and Emperor: Battle for Dune to work. Basically, you just have to go into the settings menus and tell it to use surround sound. It is really that...
1. Nothing based on the Q3A supports surround sound.
2. I chose MSI because I find Asus overpriced and I liked the feature set of the MSI a little better.
Secondly, yes the MSI board will support analog 4.1, and it sounds great.
I have had my nForce (MSI K7N-420 Pro) for nearly two months now. It is the most stable board I have ever had. Love it and will not go back to VIA. However I do have to correct something that jfunk said.
<< #2. The 5.1 audio doesn't work w/ analog speakers unless it is playing a true...
The nForce chipset does not support graphics cards that require 3.3V. Instead it will only support the newer 1.5V versions. You should check your card, I would say that this is the problem. If so it will not work on the K7N420. Sorry, but you will probably have to return it and get one that...
1. MSI K7N420-D
2. Iwill XP333
3. EPoX 8K7A
I understand where you are coming from. I got a Dragon+ over XMas and it sucked. So much for that theory that if you buy nice hardware you have a stable system. Bottom line is that VIA stinks. For me it was the nForce that did the trick, and...
<< The Epox 8KHA+ will give you better performance. The Ali Magick chipset on the Iwill-XP333R is not as fast as the KT266A chipet. >>
What reviews have you been reading, the XP333 is the same as the KT266A in almost every bech. I have a personal bias against the VIA chipset, so I would say...
Wait for the nForce 415-D chipset boards to come out or get a 420-D based board. They are faster than the KT266A boards (I don't care what the reviews say my own beches prove this fact), and they are more stable (no 4in1's).
VIA chipsets are notoriously buggy, and their damned 4 in 1 drivers always seem to cause more problems than they end up fixing. I recently had a KT266A chipset board (Soyo Dragon Plus), and it was the biggest pile of crap that I have ever owned. I will never own another VIA chipset board...
You also failed to mention the nForce boards available. Both MSI and Asus currently have versions available and ABIT is coming out with one very soon. They have great memory performance, are very fast, and offer rock solid stability. It will perform on evenly (and in at least my case) better...
