Hi Ziptar, Did yours come with the firewire card? What options did you order? Is the onboard sound 5.1, 4.1, or just stereo. I ordered mine on the 28th and scheduled delivery is 2/26 :(

Yup, I saw that too. HP is much more reasonable on the processor upgrade but bad on video cards. Looks like they're using the same mobo so it should have USB 2.0. Least expensive configuraton for 2200+ was around 365 shipped + tax - rebate (if any) so we're fairly close.

Hi everyone. I just spoke to Colleen (very nice) at Staples corporate. The $200 coupon is for a minimum order of $499 which I was $16 short of (other coupons were applied) so I didn't get the difference back. The BTO site is still down so I suspect there is a major re-working going on.

I've read the mobo manual and the 5.1 sound looks like an option in the south bridge. Can anyone confirm that the Compaq has that. Re: the Dell, probably a great machine but the compaq has a MUCH more powerful processor (the new p4 based celerons pretty much bite), looks to have 1394 support...

Too cool! Great pics. Google search = FIC AM37 mobo. Looks like two of the PCI slots are already filled!!?? Is one of them the 1394 card?? If it's not, I'm toast!! If it is, then this is a fantastic system for $321. Uh, I think this may have a long shot chance for deal of the month!

Thanks! So you ordered the 'base' with no ATI 9000? Did it come with a spec sheet or model number? The Compaq order screen indicated that it came with USB2.0 and I've seen some motherboards equiped with enhanced sound systems (5.1) and the KM266 chipset. If you wouldn't mind posting the model...

Yes!..Please share the particulars of your order and if the motherboard is a known brand (gigabyte, maybe) and how well (or not) it performs. Did you get restore disks or did you have to make them?
