Trick Windows 98 upgrade that Win95 is here

Hi, I just lost my Windows 95 CD. And obviously, I dumped my Windows 3.11 floppies. I really want to know how to install Windows 98 on a new hard drive. Win98 upgrade compliance check won't allow me to continue. I heard of some kind of tricks to bypass this step. Is this possible? I'm stuck at...

    Install W2k after WinXP.

Hi, I have a system with two partitions. I already have installed XP RTM on my C: drive. I was wondering if it is possible to install Windows 2000 on D: drive. I already tried to pop my W2k CD into the system, but XP refused to install it as W2k is an older OS. Thanks in advance.

    Problems playing Jackie Chan VCDs...

Maybe a DVD player will play VCDs. VCD is encoded in special MPEG-1, right? If so, a soft DVD player that can play MPEG-2 must also read MPEG-1 as well. My thought...

Norton Ghost problem with BE6 ATA-66 HD...

My ATA-66 card is built onto the Be6 mobo. I forgot what the name of the controller is. Anyhow, my ATA66 HD is detected by the BIOS, and it is set to boot sequence. The problem's with Windows 2000 not allowing the drive to boot.

Norton Ghost problem with BE6 ATA-66 HD...

Thanks for your replies. I have set the boot sequence in this order: EXT, A, C. And I have also set the "What EXT means" to UMA66. The 20GB ATA66 HD seems to work fine with my ATA-33, but it just cannot boot when connected to a ATA-66 controller. << 1-Get the latest BIOS update...

USB Hard drives - how fast?

Well, I haven't seen any USB storage devices that are faster than 850KB/s. If you go with FireWire and you don't have a FW port, you need to shell out for another $100 for a FireWIre PCI Card. In this case, buying a USB HD will save you some $$$ in exchange for some serious speed. Of course...

    Hardware related Diablo2 question

Thank you for all your suggestions. Some of you pointed out that I need a new HD, and some new RAM. So, I assume CPU isn't the limiting factor in D2. I am going to grab a new CPU and some new RAM. That's not entirely for D2, but for my work as well. :) One more thing, one of you suggests...
