    AMD 1700+ T-Bred B unlock (KT266A)

You close the last L12 bridge I do believe, if my memory of those tbred unlocking articles serves me correctly. So yes it is per those articles anyway. If your mobo supports 13x then I think that's what you should be able to get up to.

XP Setup not detecting the SATA Raptor

Make sure SATA is enabled in the BIOS and that the SATA BIOS is picking your drive up. Also, you might want to disable the other ATA channels you aren't useing while you get winxp to check for the drive.

    Powersupply voltages?

The threshold for the 5V line is 5% so 5.25V should be the max. That is a little high. How are your other voltages?

    Biosview and modbin?

Hi guys, I'm trying to modify my bios (an award bios on a gigabyte GA7VAXP Ultra.) I've used cbrom to rip some stuff out of it to make space for a bootup image, however now I'm moving on to trying to unlock something in the menu's. Unfortunately, biosview won't read it, and modbin can't read...

    FSB mod

I want to mod my Athlon TbredA so the fsb defaults to 166 instead of 133 (it's a 2000+ and don't make me write the long story about why I want to do this!) Anyway I've found out that the third L12 bridge needs closing to solve that. Now will I need to fill the trench like I would if I was...

    How to get 166fsb?

I only have 1dip on SW1. The fact that easy tune can overclock beyond what the bios can, implies that a modded BIOS could open up a few options. I wouldn't normally try it but the board does have dual BIOSes so I have nothing to loose! Now all I have to do is find one! Cheers!

    How to get 166fsb?

I have an XP2000+ tbred on a Gigabyte 7VAXP Ultra mobo, with DDR333 RAM. I want to run the 2000+ @ 166fsb to synch with my DDR333 - I'll turn down the multiplier to start with, then overclock it at my will. My problem is in the bios I can only get to 165mhz then it goes back to 133 (of course...

Tbred A and B, telling the difference..

Something like aida won't be of use because I want to know what core it is before I buy it. Cheers anyway.

Tbred A and B, telling the difference..

Cheers, that's awesome. Does that apply to other ones around that range, ie AXADA2100xxxxxx?

Tbred A and B, telling the difference..

Hi guys, I'm getting an XP2000+ tomorrow (or something around that.) My question is, how can I tell, by looking at it, whether its a type A or B tbred? I asked the guy in the shop over the phone and he went "erm..... B" so basically I wanna make sure! Cheers, Unts.

Making a multimedia system - Need advice

OK, I'll have a new comp within a month, and my oldest will be pretty much obsolete. However I reckon I can whack it in my bedroom and use it as a multimedia system. Here's the spec: AMD K6 200@266 PC Chips M575 Mobo 160MB RAM 2x 2GB Fujitsu hard drives Matshita 16x CDROM drive My mini...

    3com router woes

I have a 3com ISDN OfficeConnect NetBuilder router. I'm trying to map some ports from any IP on the internet to one of my computers (192.168.0.3) using NAT. I've found the TCP/UDP mapping section, but for starters I must specify one-to-one address mapping and secondly it doesn't work even if...

    Dual Athlon64 mobo's

Thanks Marlin, I thought that was how things were planned! I'm aware of the performance issues with multiprocessors. I have windows XP pro, and should I get the dual processor rig, I'll do a fresh install so that it uses the multiprocessor kernel. Thanks, Unts.

    Dual Athlon64 mobo's

I was aware that the opterons could support up to 8 way multiprocessing, but I thought the 64's could do dual. Or have I just got my wires crossed?
