I want 8 real cores with 50-75% more IPC than my 2600k and can clock the same. It's been 5+ years and intel can't even provide that.

If you do upgrade, please run back to back benchmarks, comparing your 4.8ghz 2600k vs max stable OC of the 6700k with your 980ti. I'm willing to bet at 1600p, there won't be much improvement except for minimums. I'm roughly the same setup as yours and I see no good reason to upgrade until...
