I'll look into the event log and let you know if I find anything.
Thanks!
Oh, and I purchased a new processor just for the heck of it...same thing. I also tried booting up a windows xp loaded hard drive. It wouldn't startup either. It would definitely be cheaper/easier to buy a new...
It won't boot in safe mode either. I just tried the windows 2K drive in a newer P4 machine and it loaded also.
If that windows 98 SE hard drive wouldn't have loaded on the computer, I would have chalked it up as a bad processor, but I'm not sure anymore.
Hi,
We are running an office PC that was acting somewhat as our office file server. All of the sudden, it would start shutting itself down and rebooting. Eventually it wouldn't even get past the status bar when loading windows 2000.
Computer:
P3 733 MHz with 382 MB Ram.
Windows 2000...
I've been reading over different things, and I'm a little uncertain about something. I know I need to build/buy an antenna for the "home" base, but do I need an antenna on the receiving end also? Or can I get buy with just the wireless card.
If I do need a receiving antenna also, is it best...
I'll check out those ideas some more. Thanks for the help. Like I said, I've done some digging, but I probably wasn't using the right "key words" when searching.
OK, I have done some digging and haven't come up with much on this. I am trying to figure out if there is any equipment out there that would be able to help me with this setup.
I dont' know what's available for this type of thing. I live in the country and have an office roughly 2000' away...
Just my two cents on a laptop for you. From my experience, I would agree that a lighter laptop is the way to go if it is going to be going with you most places. You would get tired of a larger laptop I think.
Did a quick search and found a few programs that are "free to try, buy for XXX".
Anyhow, there were a few different ones at this site:
