My Gainward (Gold sample) runs stable at 240/500. Default is 175/400 IIRC. I usually have it at 220/450 unless I'm running 3DMark or something.

I just built a new machine and had the same problem. Nothing that uses DirectX worked. I had to do a clean reinstall of WinXP with the latest Detonator drivers to get it to work.
