Anyone else dreading Android 4.5 rather than anticipating it?

My Nexus 5 is smoother than my wife's iPhone... Never seen a stutter at all. This is with encryption enabled and it still blazes. I have had this phone for many months if you were wondering if it was a fresh device.

You're in charge of HTC. What to do going forward?

Don't make a phone with 2 bezels. Somehow LG got a huge battery with razer thin bezels. Other manufacturers, including Samsung, need to take notes from them.

    Chrome OS and Productivity

I assumed the test used a secure tunnel through Google servers and not direct through the local LAN. Regardless...I had my parents install it on their computer and used it over the web. I didn't do any video, but it was more than good enough if I had needed to use Office. I don't like...

    Chrome OS and Productivity

Edit: I put this here because it is related to mobile productivity. Every review I see talks about the lack of productivity with Chrome OS. Most people I know have a computer that stays at home. On this website I am sure 24/7 overclocked beasts are the norm. What my point is...Chrome Remote...

How do employers monitor public wifi?

I limit my non-work related browsing to news, sports, and some tech news. When I want to browse video games sites and post to forums I generally use my phone. You are also right about the MAC address thing. I know sometimes I stay late and I may be the only one there. It wouldn't be hard...

How do employers monitor public wifi?

You could also setup a personal VPN tunnel so all traffic is encrypted. I am so paranoid I refuse to join any wifi other than my home WLAN. I just use LTE all the time. I have 10GB of shared data and so far haven't come close to using it up, so I haven't had much motivation to do this myself.

    Android TV details leak

Count me as one that is excited if they have the full Play Store available (which I am hopeful since they refer to it as Android TV). If it has access to the Play Store then the only thing it will be missing for me is Amazon Instant Video. I will just start renting my movies from Google if...

    Google+ .. What the ...?

I use it... Just not like Facebook. It is just a cloud manager so I can easily share things between family and manage my Hangouts. All while using my now terabyte of cloud space for $10/month. I have a 17 month old and sharing his shenanigans with the family through my auto backed up photos and...

    Nexus 5 vs Nexus 7 + Moto G

This may sound strange, as I am an engineer, and function should always come before form..but on tablets I *HATE* the rounded top/bottom parts of the LG. I also prefer the black front with no logo of the Nexus devices. I am firmly in the Android camp, but I have considered pairing my Android...

    Nexus 5 vs Nexus 7 + Moto G

For a similar topic, I just got my N5 today. Little wary about the battery coming from a Note 2, but SO HAPPY to be on Nexus Android (I have a 1st generation Nexus 7 so I knew what to expect). My dilemma is trying to decide on a new tablet. I wanted to wait for new Nexus 10 that never came. I...

    Portable Battery Suggestions

Funny you brought this up now. I just ordered the Anker 10k mAh this morning after reading reviews. I also ordered the Anker solar panels because, well, no other reason than they looked cool. :D

is AT&T getting rid of contracts entirely?

I am (well...was) on contract with a Note 2, and my wife is on contract with an iPhone 5. 4gb shared was ~150 after taxes, fees, and discount. Switched to Next with a LG G2. Changed to 10gb. My new bill is ~135. This includes corporate discount. Think about this. I more than doubled my data...

    $403- LG G2 for T-mobile. Hell of a deal.

Mainly because we want those specs with the Nexus experience. I would pay 600+ for a 1mm thicker Nexus 5 with the same battery and camera as the G2.

    WiFi Direct: Should I care?

I use Google Cloud Print and love it. I have an Epson also. It will print from Chrome.

So what are the best android apps?

You clearly didn't play with the equalizer. It can really crank up the bass very clearly. I use a Note 2 as a reference. I have heard other devices don't necessarily have the same success.
