I got a sweet old vintage camera today

You have to get over the fact that it's an old/antique camera. Personally, I'd much rather have pictures that I took from that camera hanging around than the camera on my bookshelf. Small rangefinders like that are terrific for taking urban or candid shots where you want to be unobtrusive. I...

    blue screens on boot up

alright I got a STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000008, 0x80042000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) code which according to the google looks like it is indeed a hardware problem. Edit: Hmm interesting, the 0x00000008 makes it seem a little more specifically a double fault. I found this about the problem-...

I want to get the cheapest DSLR I can find

used is the only way to go if you want the cheapest! Try craigslist, photography-on-the-net, or pentaxforums and look for their used ones. Look for these- Pentax- K100D, K110D, *ist DL, *ist DS- Seen all of these in the 200ish range Nikon- D70- these go for really cheap!

I'm shopping for my first DSLR

The absolute most important thing you can do is play with each brand of camera and decide which one is going to be the easiest for you to grasp, it's really completely subjective which is why no one can really tell you which to pick. Secondly, though it may be difficult if you are just starting...

    High Speed Cameras

How about a video camera :P? Seriously, there's no real point in owning a camera if you are essentially using it to capture an entire sequence of motion. Photography is all about isolating movement and life into one frame.

    Japanese Music

There's a lot of great noise rock coming out of there. I'm a DJ at a college station, if that gives me any credibility at all. Try these out- Boris Melt-Banana OOIOO There's also a lot of great American bands with Japanese leads, such as Deerhoof.
