yeah, the biggest drop in hiss seems to come from muting the "cd audio" source. but i also noticed a slight difference when muting the other two as well. ymmv. t

as mentioned above, if you're not using them, mute your "cd audio", "line-in", and "auxiliary" sources in your sound control panel. noticeably cuts down on the hiss for me. t
