In search of a QUIET power supply. Any ideas?

PC Power & Cooling's Silencer line of Power Supplies are real quiet. They are a bit expensive though but the reliability factor should also be factored in. I believe they rebadge power supplies also so if you can find the power supply that they rebadge, you can save a few bucks. I remember...

    BH6+450A upgrade need help!

two options: 1) not sure what HD you are running but for 300 bucks, I'd get a IBM 75GXP 30GB (or 15GB) + a Celeron2. Yeah, the C2 gets its ass whooped by the duron but for the price and the OC potential, the C2 is one sweet chip for the money and the 75GXP really is one fast ah heck. It lets you...

    CUSL2 BIOS 1002b anyone Flash?

Insomniac - Seems like they only fixed the temp readings from the BIOS and not PC Probe. I have the newest version of PC Probe installed and the new BIOS and my readings are still like 9 deg C in Windows. In the BIOS's hardware monitor however, the readings seems to be working now.

American PS2 gets hardware DVD playback

the Sigma Designs Ventura Plus uses the features connector on some, and I stress some, video cards. I believe Dell computers with Hardware DVD decoding also have the DVD card connected to the video card via ribbon cable. I guess if the video card makers all put a standardized features connector...

Sony drastically reducing available Playstation 2's

What the PS/PS2 has over consoles like the Dreamcast is Square as a game developer. Only reason why I bought the original PS and its the only reason (besides the DVD player)why I am buying the PS2. And its not just Final Fantasy, games like Chrono Cross dont come out on PC and even if they do it...

Just got back from Japan and...

krays - you are right, everything is much slower here. I just came back from Hong Kong which is pretty much like Japan I guess and everything is much slower here. I am still shocked that cell phone service is 12 bucks for 2000 minutes a month there and everyone has Nokias newest phone and all...

whats a good tv tuner card?

I have a Hauppauge WinTV Theater and it is a pretty good card. Its got all the bells and whistles one would want and the picture quality is excellent as long as you read the instruction manual and set it to DirectDraw layer. The US version usually runs around 127 bucks but I picked up the...

    What PDA should i get?

Palm and its retailers seem to be trying to give away the IIIc with all the weird deals floating around. Wasn't buy.com offering Razor scooters then $100 bucks in buy.com cash with their IIIc? Well, personally I use the Palm V since I only use the ToDolist, address book, date book, and the...

4 out of 6 IBM drives where crap!

Sounds like the sources for some of those messed up IBM drives have been playing "How fast can this HD roll down the stairs"". IBM drives are notorious for being the most reliable HDs available. As a habit, I run IBM's Drive Fitness test before I install anything on a new IBM...

3 SB Lives...which one to choose?

I have the X-gamer and it also has the microphone. I kinda regret not getting the Mp3 version. Creative bundled a nice program in there that used the EMU 10K1XXX chip on the Sound Blaster Live card to encode Mp3s at 5x and in high quality (up to 320kbit/sec). The X-Gamer comes with some games...

    So who's got a cusl2?

I have one. I've got my P3-650 running at 866 1.65v, which is pretty good, that was what I was hoping for. The good: -I just dumped all my PCI cards in and they worked. SB Live, Hauppauge WinTV Theater, Sigma Designs Hollywood+ DVD card, 3Com 2977 OEM v.90 PCI modem, and an Intel Pro/100+...

    Abit BX133 Sucks!!!!!

I think you would've been happier with the i815E boards. My CUSL2 rocks! Just popped the board in, dropped in a AGP card, and a PCI card into every slot 'cept the last, used that for the extra USB thingy, and loaded up windows, not one problem. Of course, thats before I checked on the CPU temp...

abit se6 & asus cusl2, no big price differience

Abit SE6, ~$140 @ www.atacom.com. S/h will probably be around $9-$10 bucks. Doesn't seem like finding a SE6 is a problem really, the CUSL2 is still a problem tho. I am curious, where did you find that price for the CUSL2?
