    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

bandai1983, Congratulations on getting that Xeon X5450 to run in your 4coredual-sata2. The maximum official FSB on this board is 1066Mghz (266x4). It makes sense that it is running at about 2.4Ghz. Unless something is software coded to take advantage of 4 cores, you will not see a difference...

    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

bandai1983, This board seems to be only single channel and a maximum of 2GB of 184-pin DDR400 memory from what I can find on the internet. I am not sure why a mod for the BIOS was not created, but that would not change the fact that it is single channel, but it might allow you to use 4GB of...

sum~guy I am not sure of the differences. They appear to show the same kinds of changes. I see that the dates are not the same. That may be because of one being just the .rom file and one being as .iso containing the .rom file and the flash utility. I am not aware of or able to find a list of...

    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

All, I just installed a Powercolor dual fan 1GB variant of the Radeon HD 6950 and it is running fine on my Asrock 4coredual-sata2 r2.0 with the 2.20A BIOS, an Intel E5700 Pentium Dual Core overclocked to 3.6Ghz, 2x2GB Patriot DDR2-800 5,5,5,15 running at DDR2-640 4,4,4,12, Creative Sound Blaster...

Mr Vain, I did have an HD 5850 that was a PCI-E 2.1 card and it ran just fine, but I too am running the PCtreiber 2.20A BIOS. Maybe it is specific 2.1 cards that don't play nice, namely the 7 series Radeon and above.

    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Mr Vain, my guess is that your Radeon HD 6870 is a PCI-E version 2.0 card rather than a 2.1, based upon what masterofunivers suggested about those 2.1 cards. The same logic would probably apply to whether a Radeon HD 6950 or HD 6970 would work or not. If it is a PCI-E 2.0 version card , it at...

    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Mr Vain, Do you have any experience with the Radeon HD 6950 or HD 6970 with this motherboard? My guess is that if the HD 6870 works then either of those should work too. What do you think?

    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Thanks masterofunivers!!!!!!! I haven't been on in a while, but that is spot on. I only did the CMD instructions on one of my 4coredual-sata2 motherboards. It sorted itself out after I went to the BIOS and made the change to the PCI device as the first video choice. I rebooted and all was well...

    Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 + ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA + ASRock 775Dual-VSTA

Just a quick note for everyone. The 4coredual-sata2 is also compatible with Windows 10 Professional 64-bit as well. I had to choose the PCI slot as the first video choice, but after that the display driver gets installed for my HD 4870 and all works very well. I could not choose the display...

Hey jeebus87, That 350w power supply will be a problem if you are trying to run anything like a GTX-460 or Radeon HD 5850. I was able to get the Radeon HD 5850 to work with Windows 8.1 Pro X64, but I also have a 630w Rosewill single 12V rail PS. It doesn't really matter what ram you run on this...

Just as an FYI to anyone out there wondering if the 4CoreDual-SATA2 R2.0 boards will run Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit. It will. I have this board, an Intel Pentium Dual Core E5700 Wolfdale overclocked to 3.60Ghz, 2x2GB Patriot Gamer DDR2-800 memory, Creative Sound Blaster Live PCI sound card...
