Not sure I'm afraid, but do contact Asrock's support email - they actually seem interested in the problem with the 970s. I've got a GTX460 coming on thursday so hope to flash the new bios then, otherwise it'll have to be RMAd.

So did I. Absolute garbage, and having looked at their support page there isn't even a mention of X99 for VGA compatibility. Totally useless. Going to return it for a Gigabyte or EVGA board, but really wish ASUS made an mATX one.

I'm having the exact same issue! Only I don't have the luxury of getting anything to replace the mobo (and also I installed a Dark Rock Pro 3, and damned if I'm going to uninstall it. An absolute pig to fit.) I had put both my Galax 970s in, but then tried with one in either slot... nothing...
