I recently picked up an EVGA 8800gtx and I swear I could cook an egg on it. Idle is around 60-65c and when playing games, it kicks up to around 80c. If I toss another case fan or two on/near it, the temps drop ~5c.
The fan on the video card is hardly spinning at all (compared to an average...
I have a GF3.... It was sent to Leadtek for RMA reapir. When I called them 3 weeks after sending it in they still have no ETA for me. I am writing off that card and getting a new card. Too bad too... that card kicked ascii !!

Definately Matrox. I have used them for 2d for many years. You simply cannot beat them!
ATI is nice, but Matrox will still beat them on clarity at higher resolutions.

I'm not looking for the best card on the market, just one that can get me by until later this year. I was considering an ATI 9000 or 9200, but don't know what the differences between them are. I don't know what nVidia cards would fall into this price/performance category either. I was hoping I...
I could understand a second or two, but since this takes well over 3 to 4 times that of my KT400 board... There's gotta be something else wrong. The bios is set for quick post. So it shouldnt take this long. The HDD dection routine shouldnt take nearly 30 seconds. It should happen in a matter of...
I think I already know the answer to this, but it takes on average 10 seconds from power up until the post beep, then 20 seconds to detect the HDD's and when the OS boots, it never gets anywhere. From power on until it tries to boot to an OS it usually takes over a minute (SCSI card init too). I...
It is likely you are not running a disk caching program, i.e. Smartdrive. I have had it take over 15 minutes to delete the Windows directory when I had no disk caching program running.

I am looking for an LCD monitor with the fastest response time for FPS gaming. I had read somewhere that newer and faster LCD's were coming out at the end of 2002. If you have any opinions, send 'em my way. I am looking for a 17" LCD.
Thanks!

Thanks. I guess I should have included this...
Will it have the proper PCI divider support so that I am not overclocking my PCI and AGP bus when going to 166(333) Mhz on the FSB?
Thanks!

Anyone know if this board will support the 333Mhz FSB on the newer Athlons when they come out?
I don't want to buy one just yet unless it will support it.
Thanks!

Always terminate the first and last physical device on a SCSI chain. So if a hard drive is one end of the cable and the zip drive at the other (external connections count as a continuation of the internal cable) you would want to terminate the hard drive and zip drive. If there were no zip drive...
I run SCSI and I have parity checking enabled. It just adds a little bit to the end of the data for error checking. If it finds an error it re-transmits the data. It allows for higher data integrity across the bus. It _might_ cause a miniscule slowdown, but I doubt you will know it. Parity with...
I would like to get the best sound quality, but I dont have decent speakers and likely wouldnt notice the difference. I do play alot of games though.
I hear Turtle Beach makes good cards, but what about compatibility? Do they still have the problems of SB compatibility, or does that not matter...
