I also have the sohw-812s drive but have a 25 pack of Memorex 16x DVD+R discs that will only burn at 2.4 when I put them in. The disc text info says they are made by Ricoh. I have the Q firmware, which is the latest so don't know what else to try. I normally buy 8x media and burn them at 4x...
