Good idea! But I don't think it's a hardware problem as when I plug the dongle in, Windows detects and installs the hardware, eg., the mouse, it just doesn't work! On the K400 I have the mouse and keyboard are even on the same dongle and the keyboard works fine while the mouse is unresponsive.

Yeah I've tried the unifying software and nothing is detected. Moreover, even with a standard corded USB mouse - no workie.

Ended up using DD off a live ubuntu cd with the conv=sync,noerror remark. Worked like a charm! (I was astounded when Windows booted without any other hassle)

Recently purchased this laptop and would like to upgrade the ram from 1GB to 2GB. I assume any DDR3 laptop ram will work, but I haven't been able to find an upgrade guide for this model specifically. Should I just take a shot at it and learn as I go? I think I have to remove the keyboard...
