What is the best quiet fan?

Not sure what the problem is. I click the link, it takes me to ftp://Anonymous@66.66.37.94/diagram.gif and it says "This page cannot be displayed". Not a 404 but anyway I can't see it. It sounds beautiful tho.

    Best fan for Alpha 8045?

Best bang for the buck if noise is a factor has to be the Panaflo L1A from bgmicro.com. I'm using an Alpha PAL 8045 with an L1A, it is dead quiet and MBM reports a temp of 49 C under load. The fan costs about 3 bucks. If you are ordering, I recommend getting ten of them. The cost is 27.50...

    Papst 3412L?

One more important Q: will this fan blow the mobo header on a Soyo Dragon+? :)

    Papst 3412L?

I have procured a mysterious Papst fan from work. If it didn't have those five letters P A P S T on the front I wouldn't bother, but I'm curious. All of the stuff I can find on this fan is in German. Details/Questions: Papst TYP 3412 L 12V 1.3W two bare wires looks like it is 80mm, might be...

    Quiet Case Fan Options

Got my Panaflos from bgmicro yesterday. 2pin tails. The motherboard has three pin headers, so I did as suggested in another thread and clipped off the guide on the side closest to the red wire. Stuck it on the motherboard header and viola. The computer has an Antec 300W PSU, two L1A fans on...

    Soyo Dragon Plus

Go to Soyo Homepage and click on the download section. Click the search engine button, then select "the DRAGON Family" and check BIOS. download the following file: k7vx2ba1.bin This is the 2BA1 bios, IMO the most stable.

Where (which) rackmount case to get?

The cheaper options are 4U cases. I got this one: Akida Rackmount Case I like it because it is cheap, black, sturdy, and cool looking. It comes with two fans in front, they are a bit loud though. Also has a removable filter. $140 shipped. No PSU, which is nice cause you can pick your own...

Does the Soyo SY-K7V Dragon+ support registered memory?

I'm pretty sure Athlon4all is correct, however I believe the recommendation is to use unregistered non-parity DDR. I believe the reason is for stability in overclocking. For more info, check out theamdmb forums and look for the soyo forum. Good stuff there.

    Soyo Dragon Plus! On-Board Ethernet

What Jeomite said. The onboard LAN is disabled after you clear the CMOS, I think. Even if it used to be enabled in the BIOS, check it again. Also, be sure you are running the BIOS in normal mode and not turbo mode.

Problems with the Soyo Dragon Plus!

I'm glad you're problem was solved. For future reference, be careful which PCI slots you fill. In the Dragon+ boards, slots 4 and 5 are safe, slot 3 works for many things, and slots one and two can introduce serious system drains/stability probs. So if you are having mysterious issues, check...

soyo dragon + sound compared to an old MX300

The Dragon+ uses an integrated Zoltrix Nightengale Pro 6 channel card. Not a bad card at all. It is similar to the turtle beach santa cruz, the aureal vortex 2 quad digital, or the creative Live! soundblaster value. In other words, it, like all of the above cards, uses 8 bit DACs (Digital to...

can not get soyo k7v dragon plus on-board sound to send digital 5.1 signal out

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. Sound and Soyo are a little tricky but it works I promise. First of all see this thread: Soyo Dragon Plus Question Key points: MUST have latest Cmedia drivers. For optical/coax SPDIF, put system in two speaker mode. then it will send the digital...

Where can I buy Panaflo U1A's?

If you do go with BG micro, don't expect much in the way of communication. I got an order confirm, a week later nothing else. I emailed today and they shipped it two days ago. Seem like nice folks and I'm sure they operate on a slim margin, but if you like tracking numbers/ship notices etc...

Quiet Quality PSU and Quiet Hard Drives

For a quiet 80GB harddrive, I can recommend the Seagate Barracuda IV. I got one from Dell for $118 recently as a special on home user upgrades. Be careful though, Dell has two ATA100 80GB drives. The Seagate has the slightly slower seek time of 9.5 ms as opposed to the maxtors which have a...
