As I understand it, 5300 is rated for 667 MHz but one or more manufacturers (Corsair perhaps?) came up with the 5400 rating because they tested their modules at 675 MHz. But both should certainly run fine at 667 MHz.
I can't vouch for whether this is successful or not as I haven't got round to trying it yet, but I bookmarked this a while ago:

Yeah, that's an option as well. It's worth noting that the case comes with a blue LED fan for the intake however, and part of the "look" of the case is the blue glow this generates in the mesh strips down the side of the case. Hence I chose to spend £5 on another fan to improve the airflow...
On the subject of fans and this case, I have a Coolermaster 534 case which only came with a 120mm inlet fan at the front (i.e. no exhaust fan). (Seasonic S12 500W if you're wondering). After building my system (P5WDH/E6600/1900XT) and monitoring it for a while, I felt the temperatures were a bit...
I'm guessing that you've connected the audio sockets on your case to the motherboard audio, and not that they're entirely disconnected? If so, I'd reckon that your case jacks are connected to the onboard audio of your P5WDH, but that since you've installed an X-Fi you've disabled the onboard...
You can stop Flash content running by disabling the relevant the ActiveX controls setting (can't remember which one after using Firefox for so long, but trial and error will do it) for the relevant security zone. Note that this will also stop any other ActiveX controls from running as well, but...
Without getting involved in a flame war about global warming, I would just suggest an analogy or two to those who run their computers 24/7:
1. Why do you turn off the lights in your house? Normal domestic light bulbs almost always blow when they are switched on, and it's well known that if...
Also, my understanding is that it depends on the game. IIRC a recent AT investigation of how the PhysX card performs in the City of Villains MMORPG found that particular game is CPU limited (and I think they were testing using an X6800).
In general I think RTS games are much more CPU...
1st post, but I've been lurking here for some months now, ever since I decided it was high time I replaced my venerable 5yo+ 1.1GHz Athlon t-bird based system!
But I wanted to say a big thanks to all the experts on here and Tom's Hardware for all the advice (good and bad) they've given to...
