Linux users, what DE are you using?

I've been using E17 for about 6 months now. I'm keeping an eye on LXQT also for my netbook. I'm running Debian Sid, and with the progress the debian e packaging team is making I'm thinking of setting aside some time to help them with packaging.

Best way to "mount" a debian server on another one? Need to share storage

i actually don't remember. I have the line commented out actually, i replaced that machine with a raspberry pi about 6 months ago, never fully removed the line. i assume it would just not auto-mount, rather than try to mount and fail in seconds rather than minutes. I have smb for my wife's...

    no reception indoors

I'll see if there's an HTC service station anywhere nearby enough. cleaning the contacts with 95% alcohol didn't help.

    no reception indoors

I was thinking that it might be that. I took the back cover on and off a bunch of times over the past month, and I'm guessing the contacts aren't connecting well anymore. I tried a factory reset instead of a reflash and unsuprisingly that didn't help (I thought it might reflash the phone with...

    no reception indoors

I have an HTC One V that I purchased on Amazon about 6-7 months ago. About 2 weeks ago I realized I was at home and I had no reception. As soon as I left to walk to school I had reception again, but once I got into class I lost reception again. Same thing when I took my daughter to daycare...

    laptops for linux

i bought a lenovo x120e and replaced the wireless card with an intel one (and switched to a hacked bios to fix their whitelist "feature") so I'll second getting as much intel hardware in a laptop as possible. you could also check out linlap.com once you find a machine you like.

    ARM netbooks yet, soon?

Everyone keeps on saying that tablets replace netbooks, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants an actual netbook, with a keyboard and 10"-12" screen and everything, for $400 tops. The best I can think of right now is a chromebook running linux but they keep on having bricking issues, or...

    Wiresless LAN Transfer Speeds

That's about what I get on wireless-g when the network isn't busy. is one of the two computers using wireless G or do you have another device on your network using G? Or are there a lot of walls/stuff in the 30 feet between the computers and the router?
