hi and thanx for the reply. i realise that most ram can be OCd to better than advertised specs but its just that the tRAS and tRC on mine seem to be superclocked:
tRAS was 12 and is now 4!
tRC was 22 and is now 10!
and the thing is i have even managed to get the MHz up to 820MHz for 800 when...
Just set my new rig up and after much fussing have got stable RAM timings and freq but the numbers just look TOO good for relatively cheap RAM
The RAM i have is Corsair CM2X1024-6400 DDR2 (5-5-5-12) rated at 1.9v according to Corsair website...
Hi, just downloaded and ran Speedfan - 46c max with 2 instances of orthos whilst clocking 3.6GHz @ 1.485v
also ran coretemp and pc probe with similar temps displayed (45c, and 44c respectively)
ambient room temp is about 25c and no my PC is nowhere near any AC of any sorts.
lol, ur not the only one with TAT issues - i gte the same error message when i try to run it.
i use coretemp and pc probe II for my temps and there is usually a big difference between the two (10c) except for now when im running orthos x2 and both are reading within 1c of each other.
yeah i kinda guessed that but you never know...
just to update... i upped the volts to 1.5 and clocked @3.6GHz and im now running 2 x orthos "Small FFTs - stress cpu" and temps are as follows:
Coretemp 46c
PC Probe 44c
well i hadnt tried orthos on both cores but i am currently runnin orthos AND prime 95 and temps sittin at 41c via PC Probe II or 37c via Coretemp
wat other apps can i use cause im not making this up...
ok thanks for the info guys - i will try to answer all your questions now...
Yoxxy thanks for the volts info - i guess i'll try 3.6GHz at 1.5v and if that doesnt do it then i'l leave it at 3.5GHz
SerpentRoyal do you mean i should run both prime95 and orthos at the same time to load the...
hi, nope not on water - i run two apps (as listed in the orignal post) to meaure temp - Coretemp and Asus PCPrbe II
PCProbe gives much higher reading than Coretemp and those are the temps I listed in OP
i did try running TAT but it just gives an error messgae whenever i try running it...
i...
Hi all, long time since ive posted on here but as ive just upgraded and getting back into the OCing scene thought it revisit for some advice.
So i just go myself a new mobo (Asus P5NE-SLI), E6750 and 4gb of Corsair CM2X1024-6400.
So far ive been running the cpu @3.5GHz on 1.456v and its...
Hi, sorry for my lack of knowledge but i have an asus A8N-SLI mobo, which is obviously compatible with SLI but can you also use a crossfire config on the same board?
please dont laugh at me.
cheers,
chris
Hi, i was recently ugrading parts from my mums pc when the PSU blew up on me. My mum needs to use her PC pretty soon but it will take a while for the new PSU to arrive.
Can I just put her IDE HDDs in my PC (complete with her OP system) and run them along side my SATA HDDS?
Will I be able to...
wow thanks man for the detailed info -very helpful and enlightening! i had a play round yesterday and wasnt able to do much with the RAM (2.5-3-3-6 @201.9Mhz) but the CPU is now running at 2.625Ghz @1.52V with no probs. i put the cpu under load for 15 mins with super pi and max temp was 47C so...
so why is it that i have to increase the CPU voltage when i OC?
i am running my Venice 64 3500+ @ 2.53G - with 1.47V... it has been running fine using superpi and temp never got above 46C.
mobo is Asus A8N-SLI. im leaving the RAM alone for the moment as i tried it before and it cracked the...
no offense taken. HTT in the A8N-SLI bios seems to be called CPU Frequency and like you said is set to default of 200mhz.
in regards to overclocking, when i increase the CPU frequency it changes the speed of my RAM and then the RAM starts failing during MemTest. if i knock the RAM back to 333...
