Built a computer with the E8400 processor. Used the fan/heatsink that came with it. HAd to remove the original thermal pad and replaced it with antec thermal grease. Idled at 59c. Bought some tuniq off of ebay and some arcticlean 1 and 2 and some lentfree wipes.

How do I check whether the CPU fan is spinning or not? Do I have to start my PC with the side wall removed?
The thermal grease was pre-apllied to the fan.

I was follwowing a guide to check whether BIOS had correct settings for RAM when I saw the CPU was at a sizzling 92°C. As far as I know it's either the BIOS that has the wrong temp or the CPU fan isnt working. What...
LOL i didnt notice there was two different fan connectors. the one that said CPU fan was much closer to the fan itself. now my wire crosses over the fan, does this matter?

forgot to add what i need help with. currently the wire from the cooler is following path A crossing the north bridge(?). where should the wire go optimally. over and around the ram following the pink route? im worried as i dont know whether or not the cables will melt...
