HDCP - this is why people pirate... I need some ideas

I have http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and that works just fine for stripping HDCP. So HDMI output to that, HDMI to DVI from there. Basically your only option is to break HDCP, nothing else will work.

Network jack not working with switch but ok with 1 pc

How wrong they are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1000baseT#1000BASE-T Automatic MDI/MDI-X Configuration is specified as an optional feature in the 1000BASE-T standard,[12] [12]Clause 40.4.4 in IEEE 802.3-2008 Now I'm going to believe in IEEE 802.3-2008 more so than wikipedia...

Network jack not working with switch but ok with 1 pc

I see people saying Gig PHY uses auto-mdix all the time. But no, it does not. It is an optional part of the standard. You can, and will, find devices that don't do it, mostly because it saves $0.50 or so a port, so why not increase my profit margin? Though if it's coming up as 100Mbit...

Would you upgrade from a Surfboard 5120 to a 6141? Upgraded... huge speed difference

Yes, you should upgrade from your Surfboard 5120 to a 6141. The 5120 is limited to 1 upstream, and 1 downstream. You will never be able to get 50 Mbps on a 5120, it is impossible, as 1 downstream is limited to 38 Mbps when nobody else is using it. From what it sounds like you are in a crowded...

    Problem With DDNS

The 100.64.0.0/10(that is 100.64-127.*.*) IP block is actually additional private space. CDMA/HSPA/LTE is most likely not going to give you anything but private space unless you pay for a higher grade of service, which means you're behind a Carrier NAT, which is the purpose of the 100.64.0.0/10...

DSL - Download speeds good, upload speeds bad. Why?

I'm sorry but this is not entirely accurate. Modems used for *DSL and Cable do have a very good signal generator as compared to the DSLAM's and CMTS's for upstream. This is why bandwidth is limited. So yes, it is an economic one, but it's also a technical one. It's also why FTTP(Fiber to the...

    Media Center or XBMC

MythTV works just fine with CableCards and XBMC. Either way, if all your channels aren't "Copy Freely", then you have no option outside of WMC+Extenders for CableCard TV.
