Actually that's interesting. My Nexus4 gets hot quite often but my Note 3 gets hot only rarely. Could it be LG's battery chemistry? Especially now that N5 seems to suffer the same.
I have Nokia DT-900 and DT-910, an unbranded 3 coil charger and TYLT Vu. Same results with those chargers too.
If you are worried about exact placement. Get a 3 coil charger, eg TYLT Vu. No need to worry about magnets or sweet spots. You can even place it in landscape mode!
Obviously wireless charging is slower as it's not as efficient but the plus point is convenience. Leave it charging on your desk...
