Yeah, the fact that the P180 appears to not have a case speaker is weird as heck. We tried looking at the CMOS jumper, but the MSI board comes with a reset button instead of jumpers. I'm going to RMA the motherboard.

We tried the monitor with a different computer, and tonight after work we'll try a different video card.

Basically just listening. But I read the x1800xt I picked out should have enough power for any games I want.

I'm gonna use it for gaming and music. After reading the posts I'm deciding to go with the MSI K9N platinum and a 3200. I went with the 3200 so I would have enough money for an x-fi. I'm upgrading from a 5 year old 2 ghz Pentium 4.

I finally have the money for my first build. Should I take the risk of problems and go with the new technology, or stick with what I know works, at the cost of upgradeability?

I'm getting ready for my first PC build and only have about $1000 to spend. I have to money for performance RAM, but if it is just going to waste when I upgrade the mobo in a year, is there really a point? Thanks for any suggestions.
