Dual PCI-E Adapters and Three Monitors? - Second system trashed by second Video card!

I have no idea about the current landscape but several years ago I ran a GF4 Ti4200 and a Radeon 7000 together with no problems. I later upgraded the Ti4200 to a Radeon 9800 XT and that worked with the 7000 just fine as well. You should definitely be able to toss a second Nvidia card in there...

    Phenom II X2 555 BE

I'm just popping in to confirm that the Newegg link on the previous page is a Black Edition, despite not being labeled as such. The UPS guy just came, and here's a picture of the box (apologies for the cameraphone). It's going in a new build I'm just about to start on, so I can't share yet if...

Need advice on Handbrake filters and more

You shouldn't need to use a detelecine filter unless the source comes telecined on the disc - go through it frame-by-frame and see if every third or fourth or whatever frame looks interlaced. Supposedly, the decomb filter is safe to leave on all the time since it's only supposed to deinterlace...

    Adding a 3rd monitor?

I've used an AGP GF4 Ti4200 (and later an AGP 9800XT) [for monitors 1+2] together with a PCI Radeon 8500 [for monitor 3] with no troubles. I just had to install the driver manually to make sure the installer didn't try to take on more than it was supposed to - so, through Device Manager, finding...

You'll get horizontal stretching or vertical black bars. That's a 4:3 resolution you're squeezing onto your 16:10 screen!

    How good is component outputs?

I'd imagine it would simply depend on the quality of the DVD player and the quality of the PC software.

macbookpro.....so, using bootcamp, what type of gaming is possible?

Is it as easy to replace the hard drive and RAM in the MBP as it is in the MacBook? I assume no, since I don't recall any fanfare, but would doing so void a warranty?

    The new MacBook is out

I think he was just balking at the idea of Windows XP being called an "upgrade".

    HDTV capture to PC

Those HD programs/movies are typically captured via firewire - it's not as complicated as you may think, and many companies will switch your box out for a firewire-enabled replacement if you ask them, or so I've heard. Your alternative is (and I'm being pretty sarcastic here - there's not...

World of Warcraft - Lowest Price anywhere?

The ten bucks isn't for naught, though: you get the PC Gamer and WoW on a DVD instead of eleven dozen CDs.

    Hard drive IDE arrangement

It's a 5200 RPM Western Digital Protégé WD80EB with a 2MB cache and a 12.1ms seek time [Anandtech actually documented this, I've discovered]. My other two drives are 7200 RPM - the 160GB has a 2MB cache and 8.9ms/10.9ms read/write seek times and the 30GB Maxtor has a 2MB cache and a 10ms average...

What monitor setup should I choose?

I treated myself to a 191t+ after years of using handmedown CRTs, and now I've got that and an old Gateway 17-incher. Frankly, I don't know how I lived without dual monitors. Usually I've just got IRC, Azureus and F@H on the second monitor - it's nice to be able to see at a glance how files are...

Suggestion for a TV tuner card?

I've had my eye on the expensive-but-beautiful Sweetspot for a while. Quite a step up from my TV Wonder VE, which is worth the twenty dollars it cost me but isn't an impressive card by any stretch of the imagination.
